It's not discrimination. It's SMART business.QUOTE]

...and smart business is to ask a women if she's married and plans to have kids in the next two years but the laws say that's discrimination too. All I'm saying is how it's amazing none of these restaurants are getting in hot water given the obvious hiring practices. Being a server is a very common job and it would be difficult to argue that being attractive and slim is mandatory if you want to work there.

I see your point ....

Today the scales have tipped way too much in favour of employees. I am an owner of a company and it absolutely pisses me off everytime I have to call my lawyer before I fire anyone.

If you are a good employee and make lots of money for me I will pay you a lot of money. If you are not then I should be allowed to fire your ass period. If you are going to have babies in the next few years after I have spent a ton of money training you ... and then you get to go away for a year and come back to the same job ... I should have the right not to hire you .... PERIOD.

So in my business which requires a university degree and then a post graduate degree ... would someone be able to claim discrimination because we hire only candidates with very good grades????

Why the hell shouldn't a restaurant be allowed to only hire good looking employees. Heck if they want they should be allowed to hire only good looking blonds with big breasts. Actually that would make a great new concept ....

Earls Joeys and those restaurants are today's strip clubs. Speaking of strip clubs back when they were the place to go for a power lunch there weren't any fat strippers.

I believe there was someone who threatened to go to the human rights tribunal over the hiring practices of Earls. Don't know the outcome.

And I've gotten too off track so I wont start talking about the human rights tribunal.

I agree with everything you said except for the above regarding discrimination.

It's not discrimination. It's SMART business.

You properly described it as a "T&A restaurant". My clients and I are certainly not going there for the food.

We go there solely because of the servers. There is NO Earls, Catus, Joey's etc if there were to hire a fat chick.

Thankfully they have been able to beat the odds and continue to do this.

Superstore or Walmart does not depend on the appearance of their employees to attract customers.
Fuck yeah!

Fat chicks disgust me and this is the only reason I give my business to the T&A restaurants.

I've boycotted such "cookie cutter" restaurants for the past year and so far so good. I'm more inclined to support the single establishments that can make a made to order drink and get my entree order correct the first time. Speaking of The Keg, it must have been a couple of years since I dined at a Keg... I've heard their Prime Rib is still salty beyond belief and the complaints continue. Oh well.

Happy safe dining.

right on the line
That's cause you make over 250/h. Also were talking about a bloody cheeseburger and coke here.
You do realise that $250 an hour isn't $250 an hour, each hour for eight hours into Melina's pocket, right? For five days a week, right? Sure, Melina charges $250, $300 an hour, but take into account the hour of prep before. The hour of cleanup after. The time she needs to mentally prepare. The time she needs to mentally decompress. The fact she only does this a few times a day. The cost for toiletries. The cost for condoms. The rent. Hydro. Cable. Yadayada. The cost for new lingerie bought purely to satisfy the lust of the SamGomez types who visit her (grin). When it is all said and done, she's earning probably $100 or less per "hour" she works for that one hour with you. At that rate, she almost matches my hourly rate for cripessakes. ;) (no I am not a SP lol).

Same thing with Cactus Club. That $24 bill (including tip) factors in a lot of costs. How much do you think CC spends on decor, rent, hydro, utensils, tables, chairs, equipment, staffing etc etc vs how much Vera's spends? And at Vera's, some burger choices with a beer will run you the same price!

Anyway, guys need to get off the fixation that these women are making $200, $250, $300 or more an hour just clear, and raking in the hours all day long. It doesn't work like that.

I get the whole, "its about the experience" thing but its more the experience that I was questioning. I know its going to make me seem like a snob or something but the experience at these places is hardly what I would consider interesting. Just a lot of lip gloss, tits, and big screen TVs.
that sounds pretty mild on an escort review board, but to some guys out there it's an 'experience'

All those white people restaurants like Cactus Club, Earls, Red Robin, etc...are all overpriced food. Best to make your own, or at least up the ante and go for a steak at the Keg!
exactly
over priced, over salted, over greased garbage
you're paying for basically mcdonalds quality food, with hot waitresses and thicker patties

So what if melina or othe SP's make $250 + an hour. Not like she works a 12 hour shift with lunch or dinner breaks at $250 an hour. 4 days on 4 day off.
Hey BadgerJohn, now use your skills and defend the salaries of these two:

Most chain restaurants are a rip. I try to avoid them like the plague I find neighbourhood Pubs area better way to go. For example, If I go to a Giants game, I go to Oscars @ Hastings and Boundary. Other good places in that area are the Hop and Vine (by the Burnably Golf Course) or the Mountain Shadow Pubs. If I am downtown, I like the Cambie (though the quality of food isn't great, but the beer is cheap), or La Casida, a decent Mexican place near Victory Square. A little pricier than I like but the portions are quite generous (though it has been a while since I have been there).

I bought a huge roast the other week at Costco and cut it into several smaller portions and wrapped them for the freezer.I took one out last night to let it thaw and put it in the slow cooker around noon today.I loaded the slow cooker with baby carrots and baby potatoes and some sliced onions as well as spices/broth and set it on a timer and left my home to do what I wanted to do.

I came home and was welcomed by the smell of well a cooked pot roast that I would get to masticate upon and it sure as fuck wont cost me $24.I wont get to look at some HOT waitress with some cleavage but I also wont run the risk of being stuck eating my meal whilst listening to the screams of an ill behaved child.

I can't believe you have to defend yourself against such judgmental people! Having seen your photos (candid & pro) and read your reviews, $$$.5 is unbelievable value when compared to ugly-ass B list pornstars in Vegas or LA who charge $1200-1500/hour! WTF?!

And eating out is for suckers if you want to be frugal. The last time I ate out I went to Earls and got the Bronx Burger. $16 plus HST (and I always tip 15% so $20.60 inclusive of tip), for a burger with an onion ring on top and some fries. I'd rather make homemade onion rings, homemade patty, homemade oven fried potatoes. Men who learn how to cook can get large amounts of poon...including rich divorced cougars who will pay the bill if you really want to eat out.

I had a buddy that went into chinese restaurant, ordered a meal & when he was nearly done.Pulled a fly off the window sill & placed it in his nearly finished meal. He called the waitress over & showed her the fly in his dinner.
He got our whole table dinner & beer for free:thumb:
Your buddy is a thief.

I agree a bit ridiculus for a burger and a coke.

Two of us went to an Irish pub in Cross Irons. I cannot pronunce the name.
I had a potatoe pie again cannot even come close to spelling it or pronouncing the name, but it was delicious.
My wife had an order of wings.
Two guinness and a rum and coke, less then fifty bucks with tip.

And the waitresses my god. in a short kilt, our waitress was a rather friendly and busty blonde. I regret going with my wife, I could not properly oggle her up and down. Dam. Being respectalbe is the shits some times.
