So found out I need a company physical in the new year for some insurance crap.

So here's a question for the "experienced". How long does weed stay in your system if they do a pee sample? I've heard anywhere from 3 to 30 days. Geez I'm hoping its on the lower end of that scale - how am I gonna get through the holidays?

the problem with pot is that it tends to stay in fatty tissue ... it was an issue at one time re: breast feeding! so it will be in your system a lot longer than drugs like alcohol which are water soluble.

go to health food store ... buy bottle of hemp seed oil supplements ... keep receipt.

go do test. when thc shows up, looked shocked and wonder if your supplements might be to blame ... show receipt.

mention that you take lots for skin condition, heart condition, mental condition and can't stop ...

hifisex's link is good... try also www.urineluck.com I used Absolute detox once and everything went well, but it was for an insurance urine test, and I'm told that they arent even necessarily looking for maryjane... they are WAY more worried about cigarettes.

products and info can also be found downtown, on Pender, across from victory square at hemp bc, amsterdam cafe, blunt bros, etc. (one of these burnt down)

happy tokin (after your test)

OK, Insurance companies look at "smoking" as anything that you injest that smokes, even if your house burns down and they ask you " have you smoked in the past 12 months"?? and you say NO, then they ask..did you inhale any smoke from the house that burned down, they are pissed off now because they also insured the house!!!!!!
They do that kind of shit....you know, ..believe it....

Maybe so drromance... but we're talking about what they test for. There's only so much time some flunkie in a lab is going to spend on your blood and piss. they test for what they are worried about.... #1 is cigarettes (nicotine). If you don't believe me check out the rate difference for a (cig) smoker and a non-smoker.

the other funny thing is, once you're insured and confirmed as a non-smoker. You can start on a pack-a-day habit and they won't care. Mind you if you change policies or add to your current policy, you'll have to go through the same tests all over, and won't get the same rate.

The whole concept of insurance is screwed anyway.

any chance you can blame it on "second hand pot"? If you can get cancer from second hand smoke.. there's no reason you can't get pot in your system from second hand pot. :)

LonelyGhost was dead on. MJ is not water soluble and hence stores in the fatty tissue. Typically it will be in your system for no less than 30 days from everything I have been told and read. I should also note that I had a friend of mine who's an MD tell me that hard drugs like coke can be tested for in your system up to 1 year after you used it. This is apparently done through hair analysis.

Did some further research - looks like urine analysis is pretty useless beyond a week for MJ. It's the hair analysis that you need to worry about - can last to over 3 months. If i see em coming after me with a razor, i'm runnin'.

Yep, they can pinpoint traces of weed in certain parts of your hair during its growth spurt when you partook in smoking. So if you have long hair and have smoked regularly, then it may be time for a very very short hair cut.

The urine sample in a complete physical is to see if you have Diabetes or poor Kidney function. They don't test for drugs.

So, if you take insurance as a non smoker, have a toke or two, die, autopsy, finds the trace, insurance does not have to pay out. I quit tobaco 19 mos ago, got big reduction in ins renewal was warned, if caught in the system, no pay out!!!!!

Take it or leave it.....

Like the other posts said, urine analysis for pot depends on the amount you consume and how much body fat you have. If you smoke one joint, it probably won't show after a couple of days. If you smoke a joint every day (or more), it could take several weeks (or even months) before it shows negative.

Is your company in the US? Canadian employers don't generally test for drugs unless it is relevant to your job -- air traffic controllers and such. In the "Land of the Free" however, lots of companies do drug tests whether it is relevant to their jobs or not. If you consume cocaine or heroin regularly, just abstain a few days before the piss test, or drink your face off every night --- no problem. If you like to smoke a joint after work, though, look out --- you're a friggin' hippie and shouldn't be employed anywhere in corporate America.
