I dont know how long ago you were a 7-11 worker but when i worked retail about 15 years ago, i was REQUIRED to mention programs or upsell accessories. I had a quota to maintain and if i didnt meat such quotas i would have to go in for 'training' so that i could help increase the numbers for the store.Actually those people DO have control over it with regards to suggestive selling and I know as I was once a lowly 7-11 worker...at that time it was not a practice to suggestive sell but if it were I would not have done so regardless about management policy so as not to be a douchebag who pisses off customers.
Customer service in today's retail world is almost non-existant, its pretty much about making your quotas (if you're no on commission) You really took it out on the wrong person. If you really wanted to send the store a message, why not leave a message on their customer service number. I had no interest in some of the things i was prettty much forced to flog to customers.
PS. and for everyone scratching their heads, no i am not talking to myself. Notice the lack of space between M and R.
