You might want to pay attention to the Kitimat LNG project(s). If that goes through, there will be a voracious Asian (mmmmm voracious Asian...) market for $15 gas, rather than a single NA market of $3.00 gas. I'm a fan of gas development as long as appropriate markets are developed with it. Not a big fan of sending everything South for a loss...
There is a huge oversupply of natural gas that cannot be "shut in" until prices improve. The horizontal drilling / fracking process creates a well that must be immediately put into production and must stay in production until it has been depleted. The only way of diverting the gas from these wells is to store it or to export it. Storage requires a whole set of expensive technologies coupled with an expensive approval process and export requires storage at the export port.
I just can't see natural gas being an investment that returns a profit.
