Twin offer on the table.
Daniel & Henrik Sedin will mull the Canucks offer before free agency opens on Wednesday.
The Sedins' future in Vancouver is on the table as Vancouver Canucks GM Mike Gillis presented the Sedin twins with a contract offer before leaving Sweden to return to Vancouver.
Gillis made the trip to Sweden to speak with Daniel and Henrik in person. According to CKNW in Vancouver agents JP Barry and Claes Elefalk will now consider the offer, which will not be made public.
"We met for a few hours this morning," JP Barry told Vancouver radio station CKNW on Tuesday morning. "Mike and (assistant GM) Lawrence Gillman are flying home now. We are considering their position today."
Two weeks ago it was reported that the Canucks were ready to offer a pair of 12-year deals worth a combined $128 million.
"It was great that they flew over just to meet us. We sat down and talked for a while. They wanted to let us know how they feel about the situation," Henril Sedin told Aftonbladet. "We have to wait and see what happens. We have told them what we want, but we don't agree on all the details."
Daniel, a left-winger, scored 31 goals and 51 assists last season, while Henrik, a centre, had 22 goals and 60 assists for an identical 82-point campaign.
Gillis is also trying to ink star goalie Roberto Luongo to an extension, as the club's captain is set to make US$7.5 million next season in the final year of his contract.
"Our focus is trying to get our own players signed first," Gillis said. "Beyond that we will explore every opportunity we have ... but we have budgeted for our own players plus some other significant additions, so we'll see how successful we are on July 1."
The NHL free-agent period opens at 9am on Wednesday.
