Rogers is Rogers.
Rogers is Fido.
Rogers is also the provider behind those SpeakOut burner phones.
I wonder how many sessions got wiped out on Friday because people couldn't communicate.
Email was still working, though one had to find a working wifi or hard connection to use that.

Rogers, Bell, and Telus all share the same towers because of the frequencies. But they are different networks. So, this case is network down, not towers down. The internal network upgrade "turns off" rogers broadcast ID. And rogers forgets to check this step in all their upgraded routers. So, can't connect to rogers.
Time to place the blame where it belongs:
The federal government, which regulates the telecoms, has done a really lousy job from the beginning, under both Conservative and Liberal governments. The governments have allowed the telecoms to screw their customers, unimpeded, from the outset. Trudeau has had many years to remedy the problem and has done nothing. Maybe he should follow the lead of the Suncor CEO who resigned because he failed to fix the fatality problem. I don't think Trudeau understands the concept of "The buck stops here."
