Sonny Bill Williams = CLASS.
After the trophy and medal presentation, as the crowd and All Black players celebrated the Rugby World Cup 2015 final on the pitch a young fan got caught up in the moment and rushed the field and players to cheer for his heros. Not a good move as a security guard moved in and laid out a first class tackle on the kid.
Sonny Bill, seeing this, moved in. He approaches the scene and respectfully shrugs off the security officer (who of course was only doing his job), picks the kid up and embraces him. And then as he's taking photographs with the kid for the crowd he does something remarkable. He takes the commemorative World Cup gold medal from around his neck and gives it to the New Zealand boy.
I remember seeing the quote somewhere but I don't have it - Sonny Bill said something to the effect of "the kid just got smoked trying to celebrate our win. It felt like the right thing to do...heck, what am I going to do with it, its just going to end up hanging on a wall somewhere."
Check out that kids face once he realizes what just actually happened and that he's not just wearing it for a photo but that Williams walked away and he's keeping it. Beyond cool if you ask me.
