I'm going to hold my nose and vote for the Liberals, even though Trudeau is an empty suit. C-51, C-36, robo-calls, and the dismantling of parliament are too much. It's far past time to get rid of Harper. Even that douche Trudeau can't completely wreck the country in one term. The NDP probably could, but hopefully they won't get the chance.

I suspect it would be fun for someone to keep the files for four years and play this quote back over and over again as I would take a bet that not only can he completely wreck it in one term, he may do a BC NDP when they were last in power and see a need for a decade plus fix to get it remotely back to normal.

In other words, where we are now with the Conservatives.

Vote for the NDP huh? have you ever READ the party platform or listened to some of what the NDP candidates have to say?I cant name the specific NDP candidate but his repsonse to the statement "It is my money and I earned it!" was "What a preposterous notion"....so nice to know that your earnings can be taken from you to give to the "have nots".Then there is the gal in Toronto who is an NDP candidate and her Socialist idol is Hugo Chavez becaue he turned around and nationalized foreign oil companies assets and stole them. How about Angry Tom saying he would reverse the new program of mail delivery via community boxes....nothing but sucking up to the union when that should have been done 10 years ago as Canada Post has been a money losing Crown Corporation for years.Yup gotta suck up and kiss the ass of that union vote and if the situation went back to what it was TAX PAYERS are on the hook for it.

How much do you like lefty socialism? Why not move to Denmark where HALF of your paycheck gets axed due to taxes to pay for socialist programs.

It is MY money that I WORK for and I sure as hell dont want money siphoned off to pay for the "have nots".

Hmmm... really? So, according to Forbes Magazine, Denmark has been ranked the best country for business in 2014, after been ranked that 2008-2010.
Link to Forbes story here

This is supported by a Scottish economist, John Kay, see here.

It is also the second-most peaceful country according to the Institute for Economics and Peace.
The least corrupt country and best on rule of law according to the Global Justice Project, see this.
And according the eighth most competitive economy by the International Institute for Management Development.

Sadly, they are no longer the world's most happiest people, but being ranked 3 is still pretty good (and ahead of Canada).

If you want to look at overall tax competitiveness, Denmark doesn't rank that highly according to the Tax Foundation, but still higher than Canada.

Extreme inequality in society is what leads to increased crime, corruption and the possibility of revolution. Some redistribution of wealth through the tax code mitigates some of those negative aspects in society.

Maybe Denmark and its brand of socialism has a thing or two to teach Canada.

And I'm not Danish...

We have locked horns in the past and when props are due, I gladly hand them out.

Well documented post with some good food for thought

Thank you for the acknowledgement. Appreciate it.
I'm not all bad, even if my political leanings are somewhat left of centre. And I am a fan of capitalism when it is serving society as a whole rather than as a tool of a very small elite. :)

For all of the quotes and information you provided and added you did not ANSWER my question. That question is ASKED again...how do YOU feel about having HALF of what you work for....HALF of what you labour for STRIPPED away to pay for social programs that pay for the "have nots"?

Do you hand out $20 bills with reckless abandon to all of the dog-fuckers on Granville anytime you are asked for "spare change"?Do you randomly hand out your hard earned money to people that fuck the dog and also abuse the social safety net? When was the last time you over paid an SP even though you were looking through reviews for the best gal that gives the best service at the cheapest price.

The last thing Canada needs or deserves is a Socialist Government.....see how it has worked for Cuba/Russia/Venezueala.

We have a socialism now. It is only a matter of degree.
You don't think all those corporate handouts and tax breaks aren't a form of socialism, not to say anything about our medical system, free education, OAS, EI and everything else?

What you are suggesting (based on your examples) are problems with centrally planned economies where markets aren't able to at least to some degree have a part in deciding resource allocation. I'd quite happily live in Australia, where the 47% marginal tax rate (I'm including the Medicare premium in this) kicks in somewhere around $180,000. You have to look at whether you are getting value for your tax dollars.

It sounds like you are believing the scare and fear tactics of the Conservative adverts. They want you to believe those, but most Canadians see them for what they are, total B.S., lies, propaganda or whatever other choice words one would like to use. They make claims that are not believable and are totally laughable when you look at Harper's economic record.

first off, if you are taxed at source then you are, indeed, paying too much tax! but guess what? the conservatives are not going to do anything about that! they work for the wealthy.

secondly, what "have not" social program are you talking about. like i mentioned in another post, the last figures i saw for welfare in BC were .3% of the total provincial budget and that 40% of those people were disabled.

look here at where your federal money is going:
http://www.fin.gc.ca/tax-impot/2014/html-eng.asp

and then let us know.
