I have read a number of articles that have stated while the Canadian Dollar has gained over 25% against the US Dollar this year, it has only held its own or had very small gains against other major currencies.
If the exchange rate at the beginning of the year is compared to the current exchange rate for other major currencies (and some minor ones that may be of interest to some Perberts) one can see that the Canadian Dollar has made significant gains against almost all other currencies.
............................ 01 Jan 07 ... Today
US Dollar …………......... 0.858 ..... 1.094 ...... Up ... 27.6%

Japanese Yen ............ 102.1 ..... 123.4 ...... Up ... 20.8%
British Pound ............. 0.438 ..... 0.520 ...... Up ... 18.6%

Thai Baht .................. 30.83 ..... 34.77 ...... Up ... 12.8%

So as the table shows, the Canadian Dollar is up over 27% against the US Dollar, almost 15% against the Euro, over 18% against the Pound, over 20% against the Yen and over 21% against the Yuan.
Any other currencies of interest to anyone out there?

I have to do something to keep myself busy.
