Long time member here...mostly only recreational these days....unless a provider really catches my eye.

I wonder if someone could assist with a hotel/motel recommendation? Rent by the hour/cash kind of thing?

Thanks in advance.

AirBNB is an option but i believe you would need to schedule in advance. If you are looking for on the spot locations that don’t require scheduling, I would be interested to know any input as well

Not too far
Get an account with Hotels.com. Then you can choose any hotel based on price, location, etc and book it on the spot.
The reservation is sent to the hotel instantly so you can literally walk into the place an book it online at the same time. Obviously that is not by the hour or cash but you can find very good deals, especially now with the tourism practically dead.

Not hourly but some decent deals. Lots of hotels not on this site have day use rate, but none hourly that I know of or at least that you’d want to use. Pooning and cheating aside, you’d think given all the adults with room mates and those living with parents well into their 20s and beyond there would be a market for quality short time rooms in YVR. They’re quite common elsewhere for these reasons.

Agreed, not quite hourly on this site but 4 hour seems common.
Also there are a few hotels that will accept cash for a damage deposit and payment. Several of the Comfort/Clarion properties in my area started allowing it last summer. Really low occupancy means a property manager is more likely to do it instead of turning away business. I would recommend going to the property in person and asking.
