Thats very true Mick, but as in everything else, there is a price for quality.mick_eight said:Berts is good Randy but a mite expensive for whats done.
I agree to a certain extent, burts is good but you have to know the business, example. Clutch packs and seal kits for tran rebuilds come from about $80 to $250 because of different quality, But Gm will sell you a bearing for a impala for $20 and exact same bearing for a caddy for $40. you really have to know the ins and outs of each genre. I'm lucky because I've a network of friends in the automotive trade that run from a clap of thunder to a babys fart. Comes in real handy. No one mechanic knows it all, but if he knows that and has friends , he can help lotsRandy Whorewald said:Thats very true Mick, but as in everything else, there is a price for quality.![]()
Yes, I was following the owners manual and I was getting my transmission serviced which included fluid change every 80,000 km at the GM dealership.mick_eight said:The best preventive medicine for AT is to change Tran Fluid at least as often as recomended, The biggest killer of AT is getting stuck, ie snow ,ice mud. The fluid loses its lubricating properties when overheated, and tranny explodes, causing major damage and major money.
