I think anybody could say that about any culture - including our own....

The thing is, it's not a "culture" that does stuff, it is individual people. Generalizing actions of some to all is the slippery slope...

agreed zoe_zee thats why i didn't go into details. also i am not naive enough or so conceited in my canadian culture to not think some my ways and common practices don't piss off people of other cultural or social groups. thats one of the things that i think is good about the younger culture that i am part of. i have many friends of different races and backgrounds and we talk about race and laugh about shit to do with all the time. talking about race and our differences in either a fun or constructive way is not a bad thing.

also i was being totally honest with what i said that some racial groups piss me off with certain things. while i take everyone as an individual i mean lets face it guys some groups of people are more prone to certain things.

back when i worked in retail and i won't say in what part of town or what race of people they were but even the people that belonged to that group would comment on it as well and that being the fucking cheapness some of these people would try to get away with. they would roll up to the store in a mercedes benz, come in wearing a rolex or brietling watch and try to nickel and dime us for a fucking 50 cent discount. they would just hound us and follow us around the store even after we said no a hundred times.

all i'm saying is we as different culture all have our differences and anyone that is honest with themselves can see that. we are different from eachother. does that make one group better then another? certainly not.

I have to admit that I find the stores with absolutely no English writing to be offensive sometimes. It seems like they're trying to discourage caucasians from doing business there. Now I'm not racist or anything, most of my friends are non-caucasian, but I think there are some immigrants in Vancouver that don't really care about being "Canadian".

On a small sidenote. I see the comments here about how Canada has such a "free and liberal immigration policy". Bull-fuckin-shit to that. They did maybe 10 years ago. Not anymore. Educate yourself before ya spew. A non-caucasian friend of mine, asian to be precise, got her citizenship back then. I believe she paid in the neighborhood of $60, this fee to cover the paperwork. Look up that fee now. Yet another asian friend of mine got her citizenship 2 years ago. Its over $700 if my memory serves me right. All the paperwork and the process are exactly the same. I guess the govt. decided that we now have open arms to all providing they can afford it.
As for that website. It isn't worthy of a comment.

As far as that site goes, I find it interesting to read the perspective.

Lots of natural feelings of uncertainty and non understanding, but you can sense some of the hate behind the words and the agenda is disappoiting.

My reality is this.

If you are a member of a long serving powerful majority you are doomed in our society if you take pride in your race. If you are a part of a long suffering minority you are incouraged to celebrate your race.

I really don't know what it means to be a White Protestant, I really don't. we really have no definition except in relation to the supressed minorities.

Here are two examples.

Black Colleges in the US and the UNCF (Negro College Fund). Can I get in to Southern University or Grambling. I don't know if they accept white students, if they are exclusionary, or if they practice reverse racism. i personally don't want to go and try and fit in to that environemnt.

Can I start an underpriviledged white people fund, I don't think so, but I am not sure of the difference.

Secondly why would a man want to play in a ladies golf tournament, or a right handed player want to play in a lefty only golf tournament. Why are there womens and mens tennis or even divisions in a POKER tournament. Our politically correct society judges you on what differences between people you choose to ACKNOWLEGE. Society is hyper sensitive. Noticing difference is one thing, acting out against those differences is another.

I truly feel that the PC world we live in fosters underground racism through condeming peoples natural tendencies to gravitate to familiarity. Forcing guilt on people for natural tendencies does not allow for open and honest and sometimes offensive dialogue.

I really don't know that we are fixing racism, I tend to think we are sweeping it under the carpet.
