Glad to see the barricade on the CN line in Ontario is being taken down and protesters being arrested. Canada was fast becoming a laughingstock for the inaction on the issue. Should have been done 2 weeks ago. Trudeau dragged his feet on the issue far too long.

It's how our candy-ass authorities deal with everything.

Instead of taking decisive action right away - they wait until the problem gets bigger.

Happens with Antifa/Anarchist rampages, homeless camps, and pop-up street demos.

Trudeau was a fool to think any kind of dialogue with these bunch of assholes would actually accomplish anything. Was quite clear that force was the only thing that would work.

It does not help that we seem to also have a large population of indifferent, candy-ass citizens / residents who do not seem too concerned about civic and national affairs and don't complain much. Gas prices or taxes go up a notch or employment drops in other countries and there are nearly riots of the masses, but here the sheep are oblivious or shake their heads and forget about it.

in the end when there are no jobs, no industry, investment reputation in Canada dead. the LPG projects trashed, fishing long gone. when there is no constructive path forward, people will somehow be happier. when mom and dads money runs out, tough times ahead !!

Trudeau did nothing for as long as possible as he did not want tough action such as enforcing the rule of law to impact the chance of getting a temporary seat on the UN security council.

When it comes down to brass tacks the 5 dissenting wetsuweten hereditary chiefs are a fake first nation. They operate under the Office of the wetsuwetan which is an incorporated company and they are funded by the Tides Foundation.

Will those dissenting wetsuwetan hereditary chiefs get any kind of job building that pipeline? Will they act in any paid administration capacity? The answer to both is NO.So in other words they DONT get to get a piece of the pie everyone else
will be enjoying. So they create their own pie for themselves and become paid activists for the Tides Foundation and in so doing have other first nations jump on the proverbial band wagon and act as unwitting but well meaning dupes.

Every single first nation on that pipeline route is 100% behind the development. It means jobs and prosperity as well as revenue sharing and it will impact every single member of all 20 first nation for generations in a positive way.It has taken 10+ years and it is nothing but positive for ALL first nations involved....it is a HAND UP in full cooperation and consultation with all first nations involved instead of a HAND OUT.

The 5 dissenters are playing the system, taking advantage of the weak leadership in Canada.

I agree with what all of you have said. Yes our present government took here sweet ass time dealing with the protestor. But the problem started years ago. No major companies want to start a project in Canada because of all the bullshit and protesting that goes with their proposal.
Maybe the protestors should be sued for loss revenue.

There’s more at work here than just a bunch of protesters with nothing better to do. People are too stupid to see the big picture unfortunately.

I say let the protesters go to China and protest there if they’re so worried about climate change. They’d be rounded up and sent to re-eduction camps and then perhaps not heard from again.

Oh those "protesters" dont do that in countries like China/Saudi Arabia etc because they would not get treated with kid gloves. Those Socialist scumbags protest in Western countries where they have "rights" that are protected and their goal is to destroy the very same countries that give them the freedom to do what they do.

You wont get any Greenpeace activist protesting in China because they know they will be quickly smacked upside the head with a baton and hauled off to a shithole of a jail where they will most likely die from malnutrition.....cant protest if you cant get quinoa for brekky and have a comfy bed for a couple of hours whilst you are being bailed out of jail by foreign money fed into your special interest group in Canada.

I say if they're going to protest, make them stay there.

No in and out privileges.

No leaving to get food, find a warm place to sleep, charge their phones, take bathroom breaks. Just stay.

And no deliveries of food.

Let's see how committed they are.

or maybe we need to quit electing people who act based on Twitter trends

https://nationalpost.com/opinion/re...s-the-culmination-of-trudeaus-anti-oil-agenda

this pretty much sums up our current dear leader

it's time the silent majority was listened to, started to get out and out vote the delusional minority

before we really do become bankrupt

I don’t think some people will be happy until we revert back to some sort of agrarian based society, where hardship is a daily occurrence and life is miserable to the extreme, but at least there won’t be any pipelines built to destroy the climate

We are an Agrarian based society. Society is an inverted pyramid with agriculture at the base of that inverted pyramid. Society was able to move beyond their own subsistence when farmers were able to produce more than they needed.

How committed are you if YOU feel there is something worth fighting for? Will you like to have the same rules applied to you?

We are not an agrarian society in the terms I was thinking. No industry, no modern conveniences, everybody grows their own food, homespun clothing, live in sod huts. I think that’s the utopian ideal that some of these climate protestor wackos aspire to.

That kind of life style is what the ELITES wish to impose upon the masses. The ELITES of course will live in luxury because they are better than us.Kind of like Stalin ordering 100,000 people to the gulag in Siberia over the phone as he is ensconced in his private movie theater and enjoying vodka and caviar.
