The seller must require the buyer that extra 40,000.00 $ over MSRP for the privilege to have sat in it the time to break it in . Celebrity mindset or attitude !?!? 😳🤔🤨😉

Just an idiot who thinks cars don't depreciated over time and lose 25% after driving it off the lot. He wants to get back all expenses he put into the car and then some, so he can apply it to his credit card.
The reality is put it away for 25 years; and then it might be worth 88,000.00 then......

Seems crazy but I remember when we would buy Novas and Monte Carlos for $500 or less for winter cars. Now those rusted out Montes pull $10k and a Nova might set you back $50k. I understand some are collectible and have value, but it seems every shit box out there is priced high and a rare collectible.

In all fairness this is not just one of the ordinary Honda Civics. Nor is is one of the ones we see on the roads with blacked out windows. I big tin can on the end of the exhaust pipe that is loud but not as loud as the 3 1`5inch subs in the back powered by a 2000 Watt amplifier.

Autotrader has some listed anywhere from 45 to 60 K/ so he is not far off the mark..

I learned later it's a Type R so they use a different engine and it pushes out 2x more power. So I get it, a bigger engine means entirely different internals and the higher dealer price is justified.

BUT he wants it for 50% more than dealer price?

While I agree that his asking price is excessive but it's pretty clear, some of u dunno much about current cars and the industry situation.

1967 Pontiac GTO - $120K. I don't know what's the market for collector cars like this so delusional or not?

The muscle car market is still fairly robust although it has cooled off since its peak maybe 15 years ago when a hemi equipped ‘cuda convertible sold at Barrett Jackson in Scottsdale for a cool million, was a 70 model if I recall. Price for this GTO is high I would say, depending on the restoration quality but it’s not out the ballpark like the aforementioned Honda Civic. Doubtful if they would let one in the door at Barrett Jackson.

Of course the GTO does not have a numbers matching engine so that detracts from its value, among knowledgeable collectors at least.
