I' d like to see Ted Nolan behind the bench. He never got a fair chance in Buffalo. However after an 11 year hiatus from the NHL i wonder if hes still got the right stuff?

i think it was a mistake to fire him, its to easy to fire the coach but they should trade away some players and see how he responds with players who want to play. but the worst thing is that they fired/didn't resign brian burke he was the best thing that happened to this franchise

i agree in a multicultural town like vancouver, i think ted nolan would do a good job. that being said the team needs to make personell changes as well, some players need a change of scenery.

some comments

Brian Burke put this team together and it failed, so how can he be the best thing that ever happened to this team? Second, burke's "i'll drive him to the airport myself" attitude may have been good money management, but not good team management -- his attitude sucked too often and it showed on the players.

Crawford won the cup in colorado with a dream team ... he never repeated that success here whether it was his fault or not so he now has a chance to prove himself with another team ... if its TO he will just have the same record with them ...

Nonis ... what's a boy to do? lousy owners ... lousy attitude on the team: he now has a chance to prove that he can build something better ... if he keeps Bert and Nazzi he won't be around next season ... if he's smart, he loses them and uses their $11 million plus to sign the Brothers as the top line (sedins and carter) ... sign Jovo and trade him to Florida for Jokinen ... tell Clouts not to bother showing up ... or trade him for anything.

As for a new coach, I definitely agree with the GET TED movement ... if the team succeeds it was a brilliant move ... if they fail, well, it just proves you don't bet on the dark horse. pretty much a no-brainer, which sums up the Canucks ownership.

In a nice wet pussy!
Nolan would be fine, but he is known as a manager killer. Look at the acrimony he had going with Muckler...

However, Nonis being a pussy could be a good fit; but he would decimate and marginalize him before too long...

Still, if he can get results!

Ted Nolan is a good coach no argument, but.......he went over Mucklers head to ownership in Buffalo to try and win a power struggle and lost and nobody wants a coach who tries to undermine a GM....that adds up to blackballing or career suicide take your pick.

I like Dave Lewis or Mac T(if Edmonton bows out 1st round) both players coaches.

I don't think Nolan will get another shot at the show, bullshit that it is. I think he's got a pretty good gig right now in Quebec with Val D'or in the QMJHL. Obviously the money wouldn't be that great but it's a decent paying coaching job. I believe that's where Luc Bourdon is playing also.

The circumstances that surround Ted Nolan with poor concuct or whatever you prefer to call happened 11 years ago. If hes made mistakes in days gone by lets say hes learned from them and is a better man. Right now hes travels the country as a motivational speaker for the aboriginal youths of Canada. Instructing them on the consequences of abusing drugs and alcohol and encouraging them to get an education. That sounds like a stand up guy to me.

From what i remember as a coach for Buffalo he was doing an excellant job until shit hit the fan. If its TN wish i say after 11 years lets let him have another swing at the puck.
