Canadian Idol

I know some of you are closet Idol watchers. I have boycotted the American Idol show because of the fact that it ends up being a popularity contest and the true winner seldom comes out on top.

I usually watch Canadian Idol until the last Manitoban is out. Rob James made the top ten and when he was eliminated, I shifted my alliance to Ashley Coulter and Eva Avila. I thought that they were very talented and hoped they would survive the popularity vote.

Well voila! Eva won it all and I couldn't be happier. She was certainly the most deserving of the bunch as she was so natural and has a great voice and is very hot and sexy to look at. She has the complete package and I wish her well.

BTW, I checked out ebay to see if I could buy Eva's panties that she wore on the finale but all I could find were Rita McNeill's and at this time I think I'll pass because I don't own a sailboat!

I guess it was nice to see Eva win . I never really watch this show it so fake. I prefer to watch Amazing Race where get to see different places in the world and learn something new about the country you visiting in every episode during each season.

I think Eva had the best voice. I still think the top two should have been her and Tyler, though. I would have liked to see Tyler and Eva do a duet in the finale show. I think they would have looked and sounded good together.

I wasn't a fan of Craig at all.

Nevertheless, I always believed Eva was the winner. God, that girl can belt out those tunes! And she's so versatile—she'll be able to sing in at least three languages. I can see her doing duets with Josh Groban, Michael Bublé, Celine, and some Latin artists (who knows? Marc Anthony, Luis Miguel, Chayanne—the possibilities are endless).

One thing I found frustrating was that the camera kept showing Eva's father after she won, but the poor man couldn't get anywhere near her to congratulate her. They should have let her parents get onto the stage much sooner than they did—her papa was so proud of her and it clearly pained him not to be able to give her that congratulatory hug right away. The judges could have waited until after the proud parents.

I agree that Tyler belonged in the final two more than Craig. The only thing about Tyler that drove me nuts was his constant riding of his invisible horse.

BTW, Eva and Chad are apparently hooked up so maybe they can make beautiful music together.

Martina McBride is an awesome singer and Eva has a wonderful opportunity to be touring Canada with her.

The reason to watch CI is Ben Mulroney

The real reason people watch CI is not for the contestants be they the bad ones or the good one, not for the sniping between Zack and Jake, not even for the oozing amounts of schmalzty crap that is the show's foundation. None of those. It's Ben Mulroney. Yes we watch CI purely for Ben Mulroney, and why? Because it's fucking amazing that there is a Mulroney on this planet that is a bigger an asshole than his father!

Ben is indeed a patronizing egotistical asshole and they should replace him with Tanya Kim because we perberts seem to all love Asians!

That bothered me at first too. It made absolutely cringe when he sang! I called it his "cornfield clodstomping." He seemed to dispense with the habit at the end, as he became more polished, though.
