Having read and replied to the Irish Whiskey thread, I was wonderin' if any
of you have a favourite Irish brew you'd like to share. Or if you wish any
other brew from Ireland, Scotland or England?

Notice how I put Ireland first ! (Okay, never mind the smartass
remarks) ooops wait a minute I forgot Wales. ;) :D

I have a couple of personal fav's in that department, Smithwicks, with a
nice maltey flavour somewhat similar to Guinness Draft but has a slight more licorice sort of flavour to it and has that dark reddish/brown colour as well.

Yes, Guinness draught, good stuff for sure, also Caffreys is another I
enjoy.

So......belly up to the bar boys and girls and let us know your favourite
import. Other countries included of course but do we need to mention that
Mexican mule piss.........what the hell's it called now?

'Hick'.....(ascuse me), Cheers,

I'm a pretty open minded guy when it comes to what I'll drink but never understood Guinness. For christ sakes it's blacker then hell, thick as louisiana mud and IMO tastes like gym socks boiled in dead blood

Thank you but I'll pass

That's what I get from the Guinness stout, the draught however is much
lighter, still looks like a well diggers boot boiled in oil but much nicer on
the palate.

Good point JF, I've had a couple of spoiled bottles of Guinness draught
ever so often. Damn shame to see a bottle being poured down the sink.:(

I favour both Caffrey's and Kilkenney.

Anyone want to start a cigar thread?

Whisky, beer, pussy and cigars - my kind of site!!

The stuff you buy here is made here, Its way different over there. Both the draft (draught) and the bottle/can.

The widget is cool invention.

They say that Guinness doesn't travel well

Its best to have it over in Ireland, a perfect pint :D

But anyway, I love it..very smooth..filling..like a meal
funny you should say that it's filling like a meal because any time I've had a Guiness I feel like I've just eaten a steak dinner. It's too much, especially if I'm in the mood for drinking.

It's not really an Irish ale, just a Canadian brewed Irish style ale, but I love McNally's Extra Ale from Big Rock Brewery in Calgary. It's strong at 7 per cent alcohol, and it has a big, robust flavour. I like it better than Kilkenny. I like Guinness too, but I still prefer McNally's.

I grew up on Newcastle Brown Ale, again not Irish but pretty darn close.
