I meant Austerity with regards to the Provincial Government.The new arena was a directive from Silly Hall and endorsed by Spendshi who is quite happy to piss away tax payer money like a drunken sailor on shore leave.

Energy companies have shed over 100,000 jobs in Alberta since 2014.Last week the City of Calgary announced they would be having layoffs of 225 employees.Of those 225 people 105 positions were lost due to attrition so only
120 people will actually be laid off.....not even 1% of the City workforce that is 50,000 people......50,000 people to make this City function.....nothing but bloated Government.

I am 100% opposed to the arena deal.I have personally played poker with Ken King on several occasions (and took his chip stack many times) and I have made my point to him directly in that if the Flames ownership want a new arena then they should fucking pay for it.

"Crawlspace" Kenney did just give the oil industry a 35% tax cut, and much of that will flow out of the province, leaving taxpayers on the hook for another $4-$5 billion.

Now the companies will probably go after those high wages in the industry. So if you're employed in the patch, you should probably get your toys paid off and get used to $60 auntie AMPS rather than $600 duos.

Last hand I played with Ken King I flopped a set and I slow played.The board ran out with a flush/straight combo which also paired the board.I checked the river and he bet and I check raised and he called.He then said "if you have a flush you are good"....I chastised the guy and got rude and slammed down a full house in he face.A lot of bad noise went about the table for about 30 minutes about how I dealt with it....some other players thought I was an asshole....though they were pandering to Ken King.

On the flip side I also got to play a round of golf with Bill Murray at Kanaskis on the Mt.Kidd course.

Do you care to call me a LIAR on that as well?

I have lived in Alberta for the last 20 years and I grew up here as a kid.I have seen it all.Never once did I ever hear my father complain about property taxes....that was because it was well before City Hall got expanded to a massive huge building and it got stocked with public sector employees up the yazoo....1 manager for every 3 workers not to mention sub managers etc.The City Managers make 1 million+ a year.....no fucking way any Civic worker should make MORE then the Mayor but it is the case.Same goes for the Provincial Government.

Alberta needs some serious austerity and soon....common sense got thrown out the window after Ralph Klein got his nose out of joint over a leadership review and we got saddled with the dithering Ed Stelmach and even worse the Red Queen Alison Redford and then even worse was the accidental government of the NDP who named Joe Cici as finace Minister....for fuck sakes the guy was a social worker....nothing better for a Finance Minister huh?
