A completely different question.

I was hoping to make this a yes or no question but I can't figure out how to do that as a vote.

So, my question is, do you ever think we might be in a Truman Show.

Serious question.

And no, I haven't been smoking.

There's been an ongoing debate on this one for many years, are we in a simulation? The idea of earth being a reality TV show has even been a plot on South Park. I cannot remember the name of it for the life of me, but there was also a sci-fi short story positing that earth is actually a vacation planet for long-lived/immortal beings, your vacation from your tedious existence is a vacation on earth and who you end up becoming is either based on how much you pay for the vacation or a random draw. The Tom Brady experience is a premium life, while the poor bugger in Sudan is either the bargain basement package or a really crappy draw. Minds are blanked so that the whole thing seems real, but when you die here, you just resume your previous existence. Another one was that the earth is a farm for an ancient space faring race, seeded millions of years ago and when they get back around this way, they harvest the biological and technological materials for their travels, the dinosaurs a reset when they last came by as the intelligent part of life hadn't developed as planned. There are 100s more I am sure.

There's plenty of discussion that can be had here, all based on the whole metaphysical, how are here, where did we come from and what happens when you die debates. It's mind boggling to think life spontaneously arose and increasingly horrifying to think what other explanations might be. God is just one way we puny humans have tried to put minds at ease as to what happened and what will happen at the end. The only thing that's certain is that you don't really find out until you are dead and that you can drive yourself insane worrying too much about it.

This is a topic I enjoy discussing, as you might be able to tell. Especially after a glass of wine or two.

Existence. Is it just a probability we are what and where we are due to a particular wave function?
The Arrow of Time. Is that the one and only true God? It is a part of every function that we have dreamed up.
Gravity. How it bends space to allow motion to quicken or slow.
Did something understand all this and build all of our universe into a giant game of Tron then drop all of humanity into it?
Ah, heady topics my fellow pooners, heady indeed.
Too nice a day to wrap myself around that today but I will have a nice cool amber ale thanks very much.

There was a Russian physicist that claimed he’d found structure in the cosmic microwave background radiation back in the early seventies. He wasn’t taken seriously or able to duplicate his results but what if he was right? Our entire universe could be an artificial construction or a physics experiment that went wrong. Various science fiction shows have worked it into there storylines and it makes me wonder!

I’ve been reading some of Graham Hancock’s books and I question some of his conclusions but he brings up many interesting points such as why did our ancestors decide to take a day off from hunter gathering to start building huge stone structures thousands of years ago? Why did so many ancient civilizations start at the top and then slide into extinction. Did they have help from a previously unknown earlier civilization? And no I don’t believe aliens helped them! History books are constantly being updated how do we really know what happened thousands of years ago.

We could be someone’s farm planet, what looks after itself and keeps growing (be plentiful), it’s almost time the Spam Ships are on their way!🤣
