A Joe Torre managed Dodger team against the Yankees in the World Series would be an interesting storyline...Yankees will win the World Series. Sweetness.
personally i would love to see the twins in it because i personally hate the yankees and there 200 million or so dollar payroll. but in the end i basically root for any team that will knockout the yankees
I agree, the Angels' have a strong batting order one thru nine...ya....the yanks do look awesome this year but for some reason, I wouldnt rule out the Angels this year. They look really good.
Just MO.
Same thing in the NBA where the rich gets richer as in the case of the LA Lakers, Cleveland Cavaliers, Boston Celtics, San Antonio Spurs, Orlando Magics and Dallas Mavericks. Sometimes though its the player's desire to move to a winning team by accepting a paycut that makes this teams unbeatable in paper. And bad management moves like that of the Memphis Grizzlies giving away Pau Gasol to the Lakers for almost nothing.Sorry all you baseball weenies.......but the fact of the matter is baseball is a joke. The have and the have nots.....Love to be KC, Pitt, Seattle, Baltimore, San Diego.....the list goes on and on. Never a chance to even have a sniff. The top money teams are always there and we can always hope for that one small market team to have a lucky year. If they do, the big boys take their top players the following year.
Yup baseball is a real treatLove October.
but you can also look at it that out of the top 3 teams only the yankees made it into the playoffs. while the mets and cubs spent roughly 284 million combined and got nothing for it. don't get me wrong i think that baseball as the worst format of the 4 major leaguesTeam 2009 payroll- Teams Still Alive
New York Yankees $201,449,189
Los Angeles Angels $113,709,00
Philadelphia Phillies $113,004,046

Boston Red Sox $121,745,999
St. Louis Cardinals $77,605,109

Boston lost to the Angels and there is only a about an $8 Million difference after that lets have a look.
Yankees beat Minnesota- $136 Million payroll difference approx
Phillies beat Rockies- $38 Million payroll difference approx.
Dodgers beat Cardinals- $26 Million payroll difference approx.
All 4 teams left are in the top 9 of all MLB Payrolls
Team 2009 payroll
New York Yankees $201,449,189

So.......Timeless? Not so much. Even the Tour de France has a more even playing field than baseball.
this is the same guy folks, who thought the Detroit/Pittsburgh final was over after the first two gamesWell Hunny.....I never thought I'd be so happy to see the Yankees win. 3 more wins and say SEE YA to your 5K. Go Yankees Go!!

Ah good ole Bret Boone. The 2001 season was back before they started testing for Steroids. He fell off the map once he was unable to use the juice. IMHO he was one of the guys most hurt by not being able to jack up. Hey but he got his big contract and went quietly off into the sunset.....good ole Frosted Tips (he use to bleach the tips of his hair).
