Talked to my brother in the last couple of days and he is getting "reno-victed".He moved into the place in February and I can only think he signed a one year rental contract.Not 3 months later his landlord wants him/them out because he intends to renovate the home.The rent was a disgusting $2800 a month and the landlord now figures he can get more but he cant break the lease under the law so he is using technicalities to get my brother out of the place.
Get him out and give the place a coat of interior paint and then rent it for say $3600.....man that is fucking dirty....it is evil and greedy not to mention underhanded.
The highest my mortgage payment I had was $689 when I was saddled with a 6.89% interest rate for 3 years when I bought my home....in those 3 years I made the payments AND saved up enough to get 25% equity and remove CMHC from the picture.....after that life was a walk in the clouds.
I cant fathom paying $2800 a month in RENT......sadly the only way my brother will ever OWN a house is if he wins the lottery.
So glad I dont live on the Left Coast.
