I know I am very late on this but I finally found Game Night online a few nights ago.

My reaction is a bit mixed. First 30 minutes were as I expected them to be (based on positive reviews). It is fast paced, smart, crisp and script is sharp. The timing, chemistry and cast impressed me. But once the real action started, I felt I am just watching another B-grade slap stick humor comedy. It lost it's edge and I did not quite enjoy it. I found Rachel McAdams and the other two ladies very attractive. Don't get be wrong, the second half is still not bad, but I guess the first few minutes set the bar too high. I found the latter part quite absurd and there seemed big holes in the story. Which, like I said, did make me feel as if I am watching a b-grade slapstick comedy.

6/10 for me. Only reason it is not a 5/10 is that Rachel McAdam looks cute and first 20-30 minutes were good.

Just finished watching Red Sparrow. I thought it was fucking great! I downloaded a 10 gig version via bit torrents. Very good quality both sound and video. Highly recommend.

I downloaded Game Night about a week a go but have not watched it yet.

Saw the trailer for the new star wars movie on the origin of Han Solo and damn does it ever look shitty.

I disagree. I think it looks great! I'm especially looking forward to Donald Glover as Lando :D

Also, I recently watched A Quiet Place. Believe the hype (I think around 95% on rotten tomatoes last time I looked). It's REALLY good. Great sound design, which is a key component for this film.

The Lando character looks bang on in the trailer.
Star Wars may be split by Disney into two styles. Dark and grim like Rogue one vs regular.

Saw Infinity War, loved it. Definitely not for MCU noobs though. You'd need to take notes. A lot of inside jokes.

I am really behind on my movies. Finally saw All The Money In The World. I have always enjoyed watching Kevin Spacey and I was really looking forward to watching him and then of course he was replaced by Christopher Plummer. I am not sure how Kevin Spacey did in the original version, but veteran actor Christopher Plummer IS THE movie, if you ask me. He plays this mean, cold blooded, ruthless, penny pinching rich man brilliantly. Also Romain Duris as an Italian kidnapper was fantastic. Michelle Williams and Mark Wahlburg were both ok too, but Mr Plummer steals every scene he is in.

Overall a nice film. It is well paced, although, it kinda slows down initially and I thought they were taking too long establishing what kind of person John Getty (played by Christopher Plummer) is. Overall, it is very well shot and looks great which you come to expect from Ridley Scott.
3.5 out of 5 for me.

I've been waiting for it to go on Netflix.

Time to take a break from Hockey and I'll rent it.

It was quite the story in the day.

You will like it. I must also add that although the writing is very good, seems like, and again, Christopher Plummer got most of the good lines.

Each to their own tastes I guess.I thought that the Star Wars prequels were pretty much shit with the exception of the 2nd one and the scene in the 3rd one where Anakin Skywalker became Darth Vader was the shittiest bit of movie in the history of the Silver Screen.

IMO no prequels should have been made rather sequels should have been made based on the triliogy of well written books by Timothy Zahn which would have made a lot more sense as they could have been made 20+ years ago and gotten all of the prime actors such as Carrie Fisher/Harrison Ford/Mark Hamil whilst they were still relatively young.Sadly it went the other way and along the way Goerge Lucas has repeatedly milked his one trick pony over and over again.

If a stand alone Han Solo movie or movies should be made it should be based on the books Han Solo at stars end as well as Han Solo's revenge......same thing if movies will be made about the Character of Lando Calrissian with regards to the side line books about him....cant be bothered to list the titles.

To tell you the truth and be blunt pretty much any film made these days is shit as Hollywood is just recycling old stuff and making it worse....were up to the 3rd reboot of Spiderman now as well as Superman and Batman.....fuck when are they going to reboot Ironman FFS.At the same time for all of the big budgets and the MASSIVE advances in special effects and computer animation a true kick ass sci-fi film that still stands up to the test of time from when it was made....that film being Logans Run still has not been re-made and it is just begging for it....just imagine the trailer....RUN RUNNER!!!! as the Sandman is joyfully taking potshots and toying with him. With todays technology and film making ability a remake of Logans Run would be TRULY FUCKING EPIC.....though it might seriously fuck over the mindset of the Millenial Generation LOL.

Just my 2 cents and I will say that I will NEVER spend any of my hard earned money to see a new Star Wars movie in the theatre nor will I buy one on DVD.....and Star Wars was the first movie I ever saw in the theatre....my $2.50 worth of pocket money got me an ticket and a small popcorn and a small coke back then in 1978.....and I was ENTHRALLED by it.....going to see The Empire Strikes Back was pretty much bragging rights of "who saw it first" amoong the crowd of freinds.

Just saw Pacific Rim...would recommend to download/watch later instead of going to the theatre.

The whole thing felt rushed like a Saturday morning Power Rangers 2-parter, but John Boyega was good along with Charlie Day, who was immensely underused. I swear they're making it a running gag with him speaking Chinese.

There was definitely too much Chinese shots at Japan though....killing off the OG character and then destroying Tokyo.
The first Pacific Rim was good, decent story and action was pretty cool. Now this sequel was actually a bit boring even the action scenes. Had potential and the start then fizzled out toward middle.

A good movie to see is Borg McEnroe. This is probably the only movie I've seen Shia LaBeouf in that I didn't want to slap him. I played Johnny Mc to the tee. This movie depicts the Borg McEnroe rivalry perfectly. Also shows how Borg even though he was winning titles, the stress and pressure no longer made tennis fun for him. Worth it if you enjoy sporting movies.

Every ones a critic it seems. Go see a movie and enjoy it, be entertained.
Based on that argument, we should not post SPs' reviews as well. :) We should just go and enjoy it .. even though her services are below par? This is REVIEW board so people review SP's and in this case, movies.

Red Sparrow is next on the list.

right here and now
Been out On Demand for a couple of weeks now- Charlize Theron in Atomic Blonde. Straight up action!
Fuck does that little girl take some serious shit-kickings and comes up for more! Epic stairwell and apartment building non-stop beatings. Exhausting!
She's small, but she sells it well- punching WAY above her weight class (compared to that stick-figure Maggie Q in Designated Survivor- can't take her act seriously at all).
Sound track is mostly all 80's Euro-themed hits, but they work for the most part.
Didn't realize that AB was a graphic novel. Decent little end twist for the uninitiated.

This could be absolutely terrible or really good. Joel MacHale and Katherine Heigl are in it

I have not yet seen All the Money in the World but I have watched the first couple of episodes of the FX TV series Trust, which is also about the Getty family saga. It stars Donald Sutherland as the senior Getty. I think the first episode was even directed by Danny Boyle. Solid show from what I've seen so far. You guys might enjoy it if you're interested in the subject matter.

Cargo just out on Netflix. A twist on the traditional zombie story occurring in the Australian outback starring Martin Freeman (the Hobbit, Fargo, Sherlock Holmes) as a husband who has been bitten by a zombie and has 48 hours to find someone to take care of his young baby. Excellent film. The baby is a great young actress.
