I'm psychic. :p

Will likely bring former Canuck Doug Lidster with him from Houston as an AC.
But in a good way, oh wait that other word is, oh never mind.

Damn right you got it in one. I am very happy that we are not getting a retread from somewhere else in the NHL who has recently been fired.

Lidster was a good solid D man here. I am unsure what his coaching track record is like but if you have given him the nod, he must be good.

Doesn't this contradict what Benning said at his press conference where he said he wants to model the Canucks after the Bruins? I wouldn't call them uptempo and aggressively offensive. Kind of feels like Gillis with Tortorella (in terms of the contradictory hiring nature).

None of this will matter if they don't get better personal out on the ice.
I don't recall Benning saying he wanted to model after Boston. I do remember a reporter asking if he would bring the "Boston model" to Vancouver and GMJB had no fucking clue what the "Boston model" was because it really is just wanting to build a proper team with balance.

best of luck to the new coaching staff.

and puhleeze…let's bring that Canadian brand of hockey back to this organization.
no softy Eurotrash. just hard-nosed to the grind, at all cost type of players need apply.
start finding them, Mr Benning!

The interesting thought on Dan Bylsma. Lets see where to start

He came in as a Mid season replacement (Took over from Michel Therrian) He Moved up from the AHL Wilkes Barre Scranton. Then Coached 25 games. Helped Lead the Penguins to the Cup against the Detroit Redwings in 2008-2009.

This is a team that has Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, Kris Letang, Brooks Orpik and a cast of other great players. Since that 2009 Cup run. They've lost twice in round 1, Twice in Round #2 and once to Boston in Round #3

He couldn't win in the post season with arguably two of the best players going dry in offensive production again and again in the playoffs. A comedy of errors in net with Fleury over those years. Steadfastly standing behind their porous goalie.

Blysma just wasn't the right fit here. I honestly don't know where Dan will land.

Florida Took Gerard Gallant, Nashville has Peter Laviolette, Washington has Barry Trotz, Pittsburgh took Mike Johnston, Willie Desjardins in Vancouver and Bill Peters in Carolina. NOBODY TOOK DAN now the music has stopped and all the chairs are taken.

Guess Dan Blysma gets to join John Torterella on the esteemed TSN hockey panel.

Unless some team desperately wants Dan Blysma and gasses their head coach because Dan is out there. I can't see him getting a job until the first axe falls when the season starts and he parachutes in November/December. Or he takes a job in Europe, KHL, AHL or Junior. Vancouver Giants are still looking..lol

Guy I'm still surprised who has a job is Todd McLellan in San Jose. How many Choke seasons in the playoffs does this guy get?

3 First round exits (4-1, 4-2 and this past year 4-3 with the Kings coming back down 3-0), 1 second round exit (4-3) and 2 Conference finals a (4-0 sweep and 4-1)
on top of that, I thought he stunk in Sochi.
that US roster should have been good enough to contend for gold.
he'll probably end up being an assistant somewhere.

if any team drafts Josh Ho-Sang,that team should hire Mark Messier for one day.....the 1st day of training camp.so he can educate Josh on NHL facts-of-life&rookie demeanor,
preferably held up by the neck against a wall.

pre-draft&he's already playing the race card, totally in need of an attitude-adjustment,otherwise, a surefire cancer-in-the-room.

I thought that's what veteran players are for…
to keep the young bucks in check?

I know it's not entirely the vets job to babysit, but I was thinking
along the line of mentorship on and off the ice.
no one is bigger than the league (just don't tell that to Bettman).
