showering shouldn't present a health threat (unless you drink or gargle water while you shower), but if you do will you get covered in a thin layer of silt or will it fall or dry off?

I don't want to be itching all day tomorrow, but if it's not that bad I'd prefer that to being smelly

the boil water advisory is for DRINKING water, and important for people
who are immune-compromised ... that includes little kids and seniors.

a bit of unboiled water is not going to kill you ... if you are worried,
take some acidophilus which will counteract any 'bad bugs' you may
encounter in the water -- this won't make it safe to drink ANY water,
but any incidental stuff you might ingest.

you could also try a scotch or other hard liquor chaser ... it has been
shown to kill some bugs as well ... in the good old days this was how
people 'disinfected' their water ... they boiled it with 'mash' to make
alcohol and drank that!

but otherwise, you should be fine.

Why boil...

Since I am in the tap water business, I'll offer some info if you like...The problem with turbidity (dirt) in the water is that it makes the chlorine less effective. So that really means that if there are some bugs in the water they may not be killed. Hence boiling will kill them. Now the big question is how many bugs are in the water??? Since this was a large rain event then there is a good possibility of animal droppings etc. being washed into the reservior. If you think of how large a body this is, then you can determine how big a risk this is.
Think also of the risk you take using a public washroom and grabbing the door handle - many do not wash thier hands ya know, compare that with the drinking water, or think about a BBBJ or DATY risk factor or just general body licking --- just remember that us officials have to cover our butt in this business. If 100 people got sick out of the millions, its a relatively low number, BUT the media and the public out cry is just unreal, then the lawyers show up. But how many people on an average night get injured in car accidents in the lower mainland - every night.....

Actually I think a lot of other things would be fine too if people followed this advice!
Absolutely, though I prefer the yap open on occasions, as long as no words
cum out at the same time...

Also for washing food and brushing teeth...do not use tap water...
...unless it has been boiled for at least one minute.
