At one level, you would like to believe that a level headed American, when faced with the divisive leadership from Trump ("When the looting starts, the shooting starts"), would find one more reason to not vote for Trump in November. Especially if you contrast Trump's almost non response to the murder of George Floyd to RFK's speech after announcing the death of MLK "What we need in the United States is not division; what we need in the United States is not hatred; what we need in the United States is not violence or lawlessness, but is love and wisdom, and compassion toward one another, and a feeling of justice towards those who still suffer within our country, whether they be white or whether they be black.".
At another level, I suspect that the lawlessness that has followed the murder of Mr. Floyd will make some Americans want to choose a tough president that will "lay down the law" for the next 4 years after the November election if necessary. They may not perceive a Democrat president as tough enough to bring in 4 years of martial law, again, if necessary, even though it is hard to imagine that these riots will not blow over relatively soon and almost certainly before the November election.
So what do you think, will this unrest help or hinder Trump's election?
