So, I have my little green feathered hat and lederhosen on (with appropriate holes for ears and tail, of course), and I’m off to Vienna for a visit. This trip (via Legends vacations) is in peak travel season, though, and after being greeted by the stylish hottie, I am sent on a brief layover to the Arabian (?) room… it’s a larger room with a traipsed four-poster, a number of faux palms, and a shower the size of a car wash bay with a wooden table set up in it. Oh, and it has another big service spoon and a couscous(?) cooker. It’s comfortable, but it is obviously near the airport, because you can really notice all of the traffic nearby (and, of course, with all of the unrecognized ladies' voices, it was all I could do to keep from peeking out to see what other lovely treats were gracing my surroundings).

In any case, after an initial delay (prefaced by a cute little “groundhog-type” pop-in hello), I finally got to see Vienna, and oh my dear… just, wow. The scenery is breathtaking. First, I was completely in awe of Innsbruck and Salzburg – impressive constructions in the mountainous region that blend wonderfully with the natural beauty. Then, of course, there is the firm, curvy landscape of her Graz that sets the imagination a-flutter (guides have suggested there are specialized tours of this region, but I was happy to simply appreciate the topography as part of the standard tour). And then, of course, we are inevitably drawn to the fertile, puffy banks of the Danube… ah yes, the sweet, sweet Danube (complete with a tiny patch of funky-coloured vegetation right at the top of its delta)… and you come to realise that there are few and insufficient adjectives to describe the spendour of this territory. Sure, the pictures that you will see are very accurate, but even then I think she looks younger and cuter in person.

And then… the assignment. See, it so happens that Archduke Ferdinand had been shot some time or another, and as such, we were going to war. And I say “we”, because I was conscribed. But I was in very good hands (pardon the pun) with my commanding officer, Ms. Vienna. Like her Germanic cousins, Ms. Vienna has a similar manner about her… efficient, effective, detailed, thorough, completely professional, and very direct. She is pleasant, and playful, and surprisingly happy (perhaps the only officer I can recall that I honestly believe truly likes their command… not certain troops necessarily, but her command as a whole– yeah, I think so). Like all good leaders, she understands every aspect of what needs to be done, and makes sure that it gets done. Properly.

I, as a novice (and not particularly good) soldier, tried my best to keep up with my duties, and despite a few mis-steps on my part, and some near misses with the brig and a “code red” or two, my lovely leader was able to mask her disappointment and complete her mission quite effectively on her own. A real trooper.

Intense young lady, this Ms. Vienna. Intense beauty. Intense session. Intense, intense, intense.

Intense. :D

Happy thumping, All.

P.S. I think it was Mr. Praxis (???) who asked me say if I will repeat or not… and, on this one, I’m not sure. I like Ms. Vienna very much, and while I’m not sure she likes playing with me necessarily… this is the first time that I’m not sure if it matters a whole heck of a lot (I think she likes what she does way more than she could possibly dislike doing it with me, if that makes any sense…). She is definitely WORTH repeating with, but… I… I just don’t think I have “the right stuff”. She is the consummate pro – the “A” team, as it were… and unfortunately I don’t have anything better than a C- in my bag, even on my best day. I guess it’s kinda like seeing Emmett Smith on “Dancing with the Stars”… good effort, buddy, but it may be time to leave this game to the talented ones. If I do bother Ms. Vienna again, I think I will need to go back to boot camp first, and practice a LOT before then… you know, get some passable skills… and perhaps supplement with some heavy doses of Vitamin H all the while…. ;)

Its a review which is nice, however in thumpers effort to be creative he sort of drowns his audience in mindless prattle.
Though I think hes saying see vienna.

Wow, Fuzzy Thumper's quite the poet!

Hey Fuzzy don't be intimidated :D make it a repeat you can't go wrong with Vienna  . I'm an old regular of her's and it just gets better with her the more times you see her (the comfort level going up tends to help). She's a real trooper, goes the extra mile for her guy in session, so don't shy away she's well worth becoming a regular of

Ma'am! Yes Ma'am! I almost received a "code red" ("we're number one" style) twice on account of my being shy, Ma'am!

In the german language, the city of Vienna is named Wien (the Austrian capital)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vienna

If you have travelled in Europe, the road signs in Austria all refer to Vienna as Wien. . .
thank you, my german is very limited (danka, zucker, verbotten, nein, volkswagon), and travels in europe have been limited to the UK
