So I had to drive back and forth to Surrey twice today....5 hours total in the car. What is WITH people in Surrey? Bad drivers, rude people...I know they are everywhere but they all seemed attracted to ME today in Surrey.

So I'm at the gas station...finish filling up, get in the car, spend TWENTY SECONDS digging through my purse for the keys, and look up to find this guy at my window just SCREAMING at me. "Move your fucking car you stupid fucking bitch, slut, whire, c*nt" and on ad nauseum. I got out of my car, tried to calmly say "There's no need to yell I was looking for my keys" and he goes off on another tirade...so that was IT. I got up in his face and hissed "You want to shut the fuck up and show some respect right now or I'm going to hunt you down and gut you like the fat pig you are". Boy did that shut him up fast.

Not very ladylike, but hey I can be a bitch when needed.

Then stop and go at 5 km/hr on the #1 on the way to the bridge...sandal half falls off and gets tangled and I rear end someone (speaking of bad drivers LOL). We were going so slowly, he was driving a beater, and he just
waved it off through his window. There was no damage I could see, but it was cool of him to not block the highway for something so minor.

Ok totally pointless post, just wanted to vent. :)

I am imposing a ban on travel past the port mann LOL

Not to offend anyone but Surrey/Langley/Cloverdale.....10 minute drive from the U.S border, and George Bush land.

Strip malls and 7 elevens on every corner do something to the brain. When you throw in a V8 Hemi with a lift kit and a trailer pull - well..... the noise cancels out the brain cells and its all over.

I LIKE your style...the guy is an asshole and only understands that type of response!!

Yes the world is changing and for the most part when it comes to automobiles people behave so differently then they would otherwise....sad really!

Thanks :)

It's interesting isn't it, how people's personality changes once they are in the safety of their own vehicle. A lot become aggressive, rude, or downright dangerous, but face to face during the day they are well-mannered. They feel invincible in their cars, and so free to let their true nature come out.
There's a lot of places in the world that guy would have gotten shot.

Says a lot about our evolution I think.

I think in some cases you have to nip the behavoir in the bud, and give them a taste of their own medicine. Good on you for standing up for yourself, unfortunately some people have thick heads, and the only thing they understand is when you talk to them the way they talk to you, if that makes sense.

Surrey drivers response

I don't think it's just surrey it's the entire lower mainland. Poorly planned roads and people who drive either too slow or too fast. The worst are people who slow down BEFORE signalling. you signal to indicate you're slowing down.

I've lived in Surrey most of my life and it is bad but Richmond is the worst place to drive hands down. Bad drivers +plus bad traffic= commuter hell

Exactly. Or they signal IN the turn lane, or don't signal until they're actually turning. Duh. Figured that one out already. :)

Watch what you say next time. These Surrey folk are crazy and they arent scared to hit a lady. Surrey is a weird place but it has some(a small amount) of good people but most of the people there are weird.

cowardice or wisdom?

I don't really agree yelling back and getting down to their level.
You never know but one day you can be shot or followed and who knows what people would might do. Lot of crazy people out there.

Usually in a case like that I smile and blow them a kiss.
I agree with Szabina: you argue with people for whom you have esteem and respect; eventually you may argue with someone that you see often and you must prove your point to make sure he(she) won't disrespect you in the future.
If you don't know your opposite, the chances of getting into a much bigger trouble are too dangerous to be taken in exchange for proving your point. With whom then? Somebody you will never see again?
Think about a physical fight: if you get beaten you get hurt, if you beat your opposite... you get sued. Is it worth?

Most of the time backing off and let it go does not show weakness or cowardice, but a high level of wisdom.

Well, you're not totally blame-free yourself.

After filling up at the gas station, sitting in the car for 20 seconds when there're other people waiting is pretty rude behavior too. You may be looking for your keys but the guy behind you does know that. I know 20 seconds doesn't sound very long, but it feels much longer when the car in front of you should move any moment now but for some reason it just keeps sitting there.

Besides, why did it take you 20 seconds to find the keys in your purse, especially when you just turned off the car and put the keys in your purse a couple minutes ago. Do you have a pile of lipsticks and condoms in there ? Maybe a purse reorganization is in order.

Good idea....HEY! Maybe you've just found a new career for yourself! You can organize all of us poor clueless women so our keys are ALWAYS at hand and those pesky condoms never get in the way. Men at gas pumps everywhere would bow down to you as their savior. You'd make a FORTUNE!
Umm can you make sure my favourite lip gloss is never more than 2 seconds out of reach please? Thanks doll.

Wow! Twenty whole SECONDS of your busy, busy day. After all, there are only 86,400 of them in a day. Small wonder you'd be ticked at having to deal with someone who has the nerve to hold you up for an entire twenty of them.
