Weird Texting Misshap

I haven't really done a ton of text messaging since the past few months but I had something really weird happen and I was wondering if it has happened to anyone else. So I send a friend a text message and they reply back to me but the call back number at the bottom of the text isn't there's. So without noticing I send them a text message back only it goes to this other number that was attached to the last text they sent me. So naturally the person I text messaged was like who the hell is this, so I apologized and said wrong number . Now I now you can dial a wrong number but how the hell can some strangers cell phone number end up at the bottom of a text message as the call back number for one of my friends. It was really weird and my friend had no idea how it could have happened. I am just curious if this has happened to anyone else or maybe someone knows some technical lingo on how this might happen .

I have had that happen on more then a few occasions. Some glitch/bug. I had a chick texting me that she "wants her pants back" I am like "wtf are you"? She says "so and so" I am like, "I dont know wtf you want" She's like" oh stfu" and I called her, LOL

It hasn't happened but most newer cell phones can identify numbers, so when you want to reply, there usually is a list with all the numbers in that text, just make sure you reply to the right one.

if u have an iphone there is a spoof application available that lets you text or call with other peoples phone numbers kinda kool

That's not cool at all! That could cause a lot of problems for people!

For example, someones wife texts an SP using her husband's # to see if she replies & he texts her back or makes up an excuse to leave; or someone wants to fuck with someone or find out personal info or make them tell something they shouldn't to someone because they think that person was the one who tected them (i.e. "I know you're a hooker, from Mom")... it's scary thinking of all the horrible possibilities....
