Hey, maybe you explain something to me... Americans seem to dumping on their allies all of a sudden...it seems strange that in a time of need, a country would be alientating its friends and allies. What's up with that?

Tim Hortons

"Krispy Kreme Doughnuts beats Tim Hortons and Dunkin Doughnuts. At my Vancouver office, Krispy Kreme doughnuts are gone right away, but when Tim Horton's doughnuts are there, it'll be sitting there for hours."

 Did you know that all of Tim's donuts come to the stores frozen. They used to be baked fresh in store but now they only thaw them. They also used to bake their own muffins but they are coming out frozen too.

As for Krispy Kreme, I've never tried them, but I hear they are not doing very well in Canada and are shutting their stores.

LMAO thats good wildonion but it shows you how silly and stupid a liberal mind works. Only thinking one step ahead. A good conservative would be thinking 5 or 6 steps ahead. after they recovered the body next in line to be president VP dick cheny (commonly referred to as the prince of darkness)takes the oath of office and orders the airforce and navy to knock canada back to the dark ages, and afterwords no aid for recovery.
dittman, if you (of all people) are going to call people stupid (pot calling kettle), the least you could do is spell the name of your hero Cheney correctly. Not to mention grammar, capitalization, punctuation, content, logic, and all those other signs of human intelligence.

Interestingly enough, CNN quoted today's Province editorial yet somehow missed the story earlier in the paper on the return of our boys from New Orleans and have continued to blatantly ignore everything Canada has offered and sent. Just tryin' to be a good neighbour....

KK doughnuts are only good when they are hot off the conveyor belt.
Once they cool off, they are nothing special.
(I had a hot one last night, so this is breaking news.)

Paul Martin

Sadly I am not sure there is much else POSITIVE to say about him.

Now I would have voted for Paul Martin 8 years ago, becasue despite our rampant over taxation as Finance Minister he did portray a small slice of economic conservatism that Canada so badly needs (about 20 - 30%) but as the guy "trying to be Prime Minister" and as "Prime Minister" I have been pretty disappointed.

It is more a function of the disfuction of the Liberal Leadership and Party as a whole (clinging to their overstayed welcome as national leaders). Watch the TV series ROME to see what happens when you lose focus on your mandate.

CANADA needs some serious reform, but it will not come with out a change of leadership.

And before anyone else says "I don't have issue with Americans" just the Bush Administration. Please remember 52% of Americans want him as President, so you actually have issue with half of the country.

And I'm sure 52% of voting Americans are proud of the fact their leader landed in a disaster area where anarchy had broken out and significant life has and will be lost, and promptly joked about his own "wild times" in New Orleans. Yes, real proud, as I'm sure you would be.

In my wonky post of the day it should be noted that just over 20 percent (62 mill out of 300 mill) of Americans voted for G Bush, so I guess i have issues with twenty percent of Americans. for those under the voting age I have adopted a wait and see approach.

yeah i know eh. like what the fuck is up with that??? i mean you don't help out to be recognized but i mean fuck man i watched cnn and they mentioned every other fucking place in the world that is giving them aid and a lot of the places pale in comparison to what canada is sending them and still not one fucking word of what we are doing.

just like after 9-11 "yeah sure yankees you can land all your other air traffic in canada despite the fact that more suicide mission dudes might be on the planes. oh and also yeah of course we'll take in all your displaced citizens and not just in shelters we'll take them into our homes and treat them like family cause you know thats just what good neighbors do for eachother right."

oh and lets send fire rescue crews and a ridiculous amount of volunteers to help out in new york and washington just so bush can thank everyone in the fucking world and leave us out and then more then four years later make his first trip to our country to thank us.

is it ingrained in the american physce at birth to just ignore what their good neighbor does for them????

you give credit where credit is due. i would feel the same way if we were helping germany and they mentioned everyone except canada. it's like holding the door for someone and they don't say "thankyou" kinda makes you not want to hold the door for anyone anymore wouldn't you say? it's called common courtesy.

I agree with you that we need better leadership to lead Canada into the new age, but I don't think Conservative would be good enough since they consist a bunch of racist and sexist pigs/cunts. Steven is not a good leader, he flip flops just like John Kerry. He will only pull Canada down in reputation as well as economically. New Democrats are not ready for the big time.

I wouldn't say that. Canada took a bad rap for not joining the invasion of Iraq and some think, apparently most Canadians, that it was not justified. A little acknowledgement that we are still good neighbours despite Iraq and the trade disputes when they are mentioning offers and not action from around the globe would be nice. Certainly not a necessity but nice.

Oh yeah, and in the midst of the tragedy, the U.S. has requested that the WTO review and reverse the rulings in Canada's favour. I guess they figured the timing was right....

If Canada took a bad rap from others, f**k them. It is a stupid unjustified war that I wish my country didn't even join in. Yeah, I'm English, but I didn't support the war from the beginning and I'm not the only Brit who didn't support that war. Believe me, there are a lot of Yanks that don't support the war either.

That the US requested to reverse the rulings in Canada's favour is nice of them, but I wonder what ulterior motives do these politicians have. Remember, what politicians do is NOT symbolic of how the people think and do.

Actually the rulings they want reversed were already in Canada's favour.

That's good, but I still question the ulterior motives of these American politicians.

How can 52% be so wrong?
As long as Canada can 'get along' and wait out the Bush administation until it is gone with no election, Bush can keeps his mitts off of our laws and government.
I firmly believe that he'll kill us all...
