Do you mention that you are a pooner?

And yes, I've been to the clinic at the General Hospital downtown, if that's the one Mischa is alluding to. Last time I was there, I got the judgemental treatment from some English battleaxe.
I think the first time I went there I met the same nurse, and ya I felt judged, but all the other nurses were professional. Don't judge the whole clinic by one nurse! :)

There's an older Nurse that does abit of tsk tsking, but i've found the clinic on Jasper and 110st to be overall a painless process.
112st, and it is painless except for the q-tip swab....yikes!!

To answer your question Wolvie, yes I do tell them I'm a pooner, when giving a history it's kinda hard to hide when all my partners are escorts. I like to have fun and flirt with the nurses. Probably not the right place and time for that but I am what I am.

They only test for herpes if there is a symptom, so I pretend I'm a hypochondriac and have them look me over real good. I made the hot blond nurse laugh when she checked me and said no, nothing looks like herpes....I said whoops, I meant hemorrhoids, can you check for that too?

Why would you tell them? All you have to do is say I had 2 partners or whatever. That's all I've ever said, as little as possible. You don't even have to answer if you don't want to. The first nurse that I saw told me if I didn't want to answer a question to just say so.

More importantly do you think telling them is going to make any difference in any way, the test result will come back the same regardless. The only thing that telling them would help is if you have something. You would still be able to tell them the truth after you got your results if you did test positive for something.

I'm funny that way I guess....they usually tell me; um yeah, thats way more information than we need...

To be honest overdone, I tell them because I'm proud of the fact that I sleep with escorts exclusively and have never caught an STD. Plus I've always dealt with my doctor over these matters, I didn't know about the clinic back then. So he was the only one I had to talk to about it, imagine my delight when I found the clinic and pretty nurses who knew all about it and had way better advice and knowledge than my old doctor did. ;)

Another reason is that one time I was assumed to be the person to give something to a straight woman because of my activities. When it was proven I wasn't the person there were no apologies or reconsideration to my character. But I feel vindicated and refuse to feel ashamed or shunned, I stand against the foolish stereotypes every chance I get.

Ouch, yeah, been there, done that.... Afterwards, they ask me to go pee in a cup.... :( shudder :(

Any receptive nurses? ;)

I too have asked about the herpes test but was told diagnostics was based solely on symptoms. Yet, on US-based STD forums, it seems like there are tests for HSV-1 and HSV-2. Does anyone know if it's possible to get such tests in Alberta, even if it means I have to pay?

If so many people have it, how do we not all have it? I mean the SPs for sure should since they see around 100 people a year at least.
Based on what I have read, my understanding is that majority of people infected with HSV never exhibit any symptoms. However, it is still possible for them to spread the virus through asymptomatic shredding.

Why would you tell them? All you have to do is say I had 2 partners or whatever.
That's the way I feel also.

Yeah, probably the most painful thing was sitting in the waiting room for hours and afterwards having to wait a week for results... :(

Well, see if you would have said a gay woman here then I would have been impressed. Bringing one over to the other side, I would have given you some rep points for that. You need to get some new friends besides Spermthing so you have someone to talk to. :)

hmmm

If so many people have it, how do we not all have it? I mean if we have all been with at least 100-200 different people the math says we should ALL have it.

Last time i got checked I was clean but if this is something that comes from kissing and I kiss girls who kiss like 100s of different guys...
100??? You can double and triple that number and for really busy girls a couple of more times.....

Hmmm. I just tell them I'm promiscious. I sure as hell wasn't going to tell the battleaxe that I'm a pooner, she probably would have screeched at me like a gargoyle in hot water. I think I have to stop going there during my weekday lunch breaks and try another time.

I'll have a talk with her next time, explain to her about the review board and the bad reputation she's getting. I will also remind her that some guys are nervous and shy so she should try to comfort and relax them....maybe a nice massage could be offered. ;) :)

LMAO! I just got this joke, or the play on my words. :D

I was a little slow on the uptake because I'm thinking so hard of ways to impress you....man you are a hard guy to please!

I've found the staff at the clinic on Jasper Ave to be very friendly and professional. I've never been tested by the old english lady, but I did get results from her once. I think that she just comes off as judgemental but I think that is just her manner. The results I got from her were painfully drawn out, " for aids you tested..............mmm.............n..e..g..a..t..i..v..e, for syphallis you tested......................n..e..g..a..t..i..v..e" and so on when a quick "all negative" would have done nicely.

p.s. We should never mention cotton swabs again, I think everybody shudders when they think about them.

That blonde nurse is sooooo hot! I wonder if she knows she is an unwitting star on the local pooning board? As for being judged, I heard that if you give them the name and address of someone you know is a complete dick and shamelessly brag about doing your (his) part to support the local slave trade during the examine you won't care about being judged...lol!

It's really not Rocket Science guys and gals. There are just a few simple rules: Protect yourself, protect your partners and respect each other! And even then, realize that like any other worthwhile activity, there are risks involved. If you don't like them, get out of the game!
Otherwise; PLAY SAFE!!!
