Hello folks... I've decided to jump feet first into the world of film making, and I'd LOVE some suggestions on:

A) A good semi pro starter video camera (pref. something not too big)

and

B) Where's the best deal in town for this sort of stuff?

Also, any suggestions and tips would be much appreciated...in general...pertaining to film making. It's just something I've always had a passion for, but never explored...just being able to tell a story, or capture how the world unfolds...

NB: Mid priced 3CCD or semi pro 3CCD...I'm stuck between which media is better for what I want to do. I'm thinking small time at the moment, of course, but would like to have room to grow.

Anyways...thanks!

Well, my first suggestion would be to learn how to spell film.

That is all

Take a look at some of the Canon HD Pro-Sumer HD cameras. They are well priced and are actually broadcast quality.

Advice from a porn guy

I've been producing adult movies for about 10 years. The best 3ccd standard definition camcorder that I have used is the Canon GL2. You can find them used on CL for anywhere between $700-$1500.

If you are thinking that you would like to shoot in HDV, the camcorder that I am currently using is Canon XHA1 and it's really awsome. You could probably find one of those for $2500-$3500.

For editing Apple Macs are the best with Final Cut Pro in my opinion. You can get by with a PC and Adobe Premier or Sony Vegas, but you will pull out a lot of your hair before you accomplish anything.

Lighting is really important as well, I prefer daylight color balanced fluorescant bulbs. These can be purchased fairly cheaply these days.

Thanks for the inpur there uncle... I'm not looking to do porn, but I do recognize that the industry does try to push the limits of technology :D
