She stood me up and in doing so wasted several hours of my time. On her posting she writes "manners matter." That's right, they do. I extended nothing but perfect manners and respect in our communication and arranged for a time the next day. The appointment was quite clearly set, she wished me a good evening and said she looked forward to seeing me in the morning. She instructed me to confirm that I was coming by a certain time in the morning, which I did. Knowing that her posted hours overlap with the time frame that she requested my confirmation, it would be reasonable to think she might be busy and not able to text right away. She had given me the general coordinates of her location, I drove 45 minutes to get there. 15 min before our scheduled time I reached out to get the address, no response. At the scheduled time I reached out again, nothing. I waited and waited and waited, sent one last text then realized I was ghosted. Nothing. I turned around and drove another 45 min back. I reached out long after our scheduled time to ask what happened?
Several hours later I get a text saying that because she didn't respond to my confirmation text, there was no appointment, put the blame on me. As far as I was concerned, we had an appointment and I took the steps to confirm it as she asked. If she didn't intend to honour the time we agreed upon, the solution is SIMPLE: give the customer the basic respect of a one line text asking to reschedule. I would have understood that. Manners matter.

I've had this happen more than once and with a regular it's not that big of a deal, but I do find it annoying when the respect for someone's schedule is a one way street.

If I have a bunch of appointments and something comes up, I let them know I'm cancelling.

.... But that being said, do I want a provider texting me during family breakfast that we can't get together? Nope!
