I have been looking for some new wheels.....I need a large volume to carry my gear for work....that is requirement number one.

But i like lots of power and good handling to.
Combined with comfort and some style.

Well I have looked lots, and driven several.

Today i drove a Dodge Magnum.

Think i will go back on saturday and buy it.

It was fun to drive....handled well, comfy, quiet, and very roomy.

And ohhhhh my does it rip ! :D

The power truly amazed me and it was a pleasure to pass other cars like nothing climbing a steep hill.

My looking payed off, and soon i shall own a new and IMHO great set of wheels. :p

I am a very much so into cars lady so let me put my input on it please.

One of my friend has a magnum and he just drove it down to California from Vancouver and boy .............this guy was in heaven. Just loved the car.
Never complained about the car. I was going to repeat your words again but yes it's very roomy and comfy. Looks very nice in the metalic blue.
I really wanted a new retro-mustang.....love the cars and even had one as a rental car in san diego in November....sweet car.

Alas, not big enough to haul all the crap i haul in my car 2 or 3 days a week on average.

I kept looking....never thought to much about a dodge, but see them on the street etc.

About a week ago i was parked only about 3 cars away from one at a mall.
Got to talking with the guy who was loading groceries into it.
He let me look really close, and even sit in the drivers seat....WOW just sitting in it i was impressed.
We talked, and he had nothing but good to say about his Magnum.
So finally took one out for a test drive.
Was enjoying it so much i called the dealership and asked if i could keep it several hours and drive it to a meeting i had to attend in Vernon.
They semed really nice there and told me to go ahead.
In total i had the car about 4.5 hours.
The longer i drove it the more i liked it.
So have decided to go back on Saturday as i was saying and make him an offer on the very car i drove.
If you have not awarded yourself the pleasure of a drive in one of these yet, and need some room in your vehicle go take one for a drive.
IMHO will hold nearly as much as a mini van, and yet handles way better, and the hemi V8 under the hood is mighty impressive.
Dry pavement tire smok'n power.
And if anyone knows the fairly steep hill on the hwy that bypasses the actuall town part of Summerland.
I was caught behind slow traffic at the bottom, was maybe doing 60 kms/hr.
Got in the fast lane on the hill and stomped on it,
half way up the hill looked down to see 170 kms/hr and still accelerating, i backed way out of the throttle at that point and just smiled.
My honda pilot i own currently hits the bottom at say 110, and if i hold it to the floor will top it at 112.....LOL

Oh ya its black, leather seats, the RT model , nice wheels, built in 6 disc changer and Sirius sattelite radio.....blah blah blah................ :p

I would go for it

I was looking for a new set of wheels last summer and was considering the Imprezza rally(too small), the Magnum(but they didn't have an SRT available), the Honda Pilot(not sure how that got into the mix other than to carry sports crap) but ended up getting carried away and got a Mercedes AMG. As Sabina said, the Magnum I believe has the mercedes engine so it does need the synthetic oil etc but, the nice thing is that the oil changes are less frequent.

Go for it...all that power under the hood is fun :)

They got the Mercedes engine in it, is that right?
Takes syntetic oil so I guess you are looking at approx $180 oil change or even more because it has a bigger tank.

Just called the service dept at the dealership.
Nope, the hemi engine just uses regualr oil and filtrer.
Quoted me $39.95 for an oil change at the dealer.

Woohoo :D

So then what type of engine does it has?
I thought it has mercedes in it, that's odd......You are lucky then......Good for you.

Black is nice, I always used to have black cars but they look sharper when they just came out of the carwash. Otherwise it is hard to maintain them.
I assume they come with tinted windows so you can pick me up on your way here anytime......wink...wink........;)

It has a regular 5.7 litre Hemi motor....like the one you can get in the full size dodge trucks.
Maybe its the SRT model with the high output 6.1 litre hemi you are thinking of.
I am unsure.
This one has enough power for me at least ;)

I believe the dodge magnum comes with a pussy hemi of about 350hp and the SRT version probably 400+.

No engine needs synthetic oil. If you wanna do $50 oil changes thats up to you.

It does, however, require two spark plugs per cylinder.

Well my foot may have accidentally slipped and gave it a shot of throttle on the test drive.

Leaving about a 50 foot patch of rubber on the pavement :D

Purely unintentional though ;)

when they first came out I couldn't decide if i wanted the Magnum or the 300C so I drove them both. Since they are both built on the same platform I oppted to go for the 300C for two reasons...the finish in the chrysler was superior to that of the dodge in my opinion and I was also ab;e to get my hands on a black 300C on short notice. Never thought I would say I bought a chrysler and I liked it but I love this car.

the hemi is fine by me

I have a Hemi in my truck i think the motor has enough balls to do some awesome highway driving and I have tested it to the max a few times i was impressed with the hemi when i bought it and still am this was one of my factors in buying the Dodge, over Ford and GM.

FYI....the only Chrysler product that uses a Mercedes engine is the Crossfire, the rest use either an engine made by Chrysler or a Global engine produced with Mitsubishi and Hyundai.
My family could do a Dodge commercial....except for my brother and I who like the Germans(Audi and BMW) the whole family is driving Chyslers. The top two complaints are;
1) Gas consumption
2) Wind noise in the Magnum, with the windows down at highway speeds the buffeting can be deafening.

Nice cars, great power, handle well, fit and finish is better on Chrysler than Dodge, and on any new engine that makes decent power I would use synthetic fluids(they're just better)
