Just to clarify - Vancouver Police have put out a statement that they are not going to enforce the ridiculous new laws. Good news for Vancouver pooners. They have better things to do with various social problems downtown.
http://www.straight.com/news/777406...law-wont-change-policing-priorities-vancouver
From the article:

"“Sex work involving consenting adults is not an enforcement priority for the VPD.”

Will those who are not considered "consenting adults" be considered a priority for arrests, stings, & the like?

Are drug users, addicts, trafficked or pimped females, etc, considered by the VPD as not being "consenting adults"?

And to weigh in, I'm from Ontario originally and grateful to live in Vancouver. I'll take the mountains and rain over the snow. But world-class? Depends on your standards, but I'd hazard to say that its an infant sized cosmopolitan city. Great restaurants and scenery, but lacking in diversity of cultural activities and jobs. Expensive, but the ladies are great.
From any definitions i've seen the size of the city has nothing to do with whether or not it is "world class". It is all about quality & contents. If we were talking about sumo wrestlers, then i guess size might be a factor.

Vancouver is an overpriced shithole that is populated by a shitload of over priveledged NIMBY's with Suzuki at the top of the list.

It costs close to 1 million to buy a home in Vancouver and the closer you want to buy to the surf the more expensive it gets.A million dollars buys you a crack shack in Burnaby but you might get something a bit nicer in Surrey or if you are lucky New West Minister.

Vancouver just plain SUCKS....from the uptight women who would just as soon spit on you if you smile at them to the indifferent and uncaring attitude of people in general.....the old guy who died of a heart attack at a sky train station and people stepped over him so as not to miss the train speak volumes.

Also to consider is the nutjob "save the precious environment" fucktards who are hypocrites...people that shit up the hell out of Burnaby mountain to protest an expansion of an existing pipeline but at the same time they drive their own cars there and text on thier I Phones about getting tickets...to protest about the evils of fossil fuels....the same fucking fossil fuels that allow them to drive cars and furnish them with the latest and greatest got to have it newest I Phone....and all the while the idiots worship Suzuki who is the biggest hypocrite going....living in his fancy Point Grey Mansion whilst living off all the donations to his foundation as he is the director of it and decides what is what.

I have lived in Vancouver and also North Vancouver....and I did not "live" all that well..glad I got away and got my peice of the pie through hard work.

I will agree with you on Suzuki and environmentalists in general being hypocrites. They are the first to use the courts if they think there is a breach of environmental law, but are perfectly willing to ignore the law when it suits their purpose, as in the Burnaby Mountain protest.

Your rant about Vancouver though is rather bitter. Sorry you had to go to Alberta to get your piece of the pie. I used to live there, moved here, and got my slice anyway.

Yeah I guess when people step over someone who is suffering a heart attack so as to get a seat on the Skytrain and leave that person to die I think I am dead on the mark.

My rant about Vancouver is bitter because the time I spent in Vancouver was bitter.Nothing but a shitty job with no prospects about getting ahead in life.Hard faced bitchy women that have ego's that are writing cheques that their bodies cant cash.Throw on the nutjobs and the socialist types and it gets worse.Add into the mix the trust fund douchebags living off of their parents hard work and it makes you want to puke.....lots of those at the Burnaby Mountain protest....shitting up the mountain with garbage and illegally parking and all for the sake of speaking out about an all ready existing pipeline that the fucking hypocrites enjoy the benefits of.Through that "protest" the RCMP were extremely leniant and when they did clamp down what did a "liberal save the earth protestor do?"....that person threw a bag of garbage at the ONLY visible MINORITY member of the RCMP.Seems pretty fucking racist to me as well as just plain assholish......but I just bet the person that threw the garbage would fully expect the RCMP or the VPD to show up double quick to their fancy west end home if say a homeless person was rummaging in the backyard.

As for Suzuki he showed up at the Burnaby Mountain protest after his tropical vacation to Indonesia got interuppted and he more than likely got paid to be there and most likely by a foreign interest group like the Tides Foundation. He did not get arrested because IF he did he would have lost his job at the Liberal paradise at the CBC....lord no he cant have that happen....so he shows up whilst wearing arctic like clothing and mouths off and gets paid for it knowing he has a comfy limo to drive him back after his public appearance to his comfy mansion.

I have slugged it out in Alberta for the last 16 years...yeah the winters are harsh but that is a choice you make.Damn glad I got the opportunity to get ahead through hard work and OWN my home through hard work and not be stuck in the rat race in paying 87% of my money to buy a home ....never mind getting it paid off in 10 years like I have done.

I existed in Vancouver....but I have LIVED in Calgary and gotten a hold of the proverbial "brass ring" and I like the taste of WINNING.

When did this supposedly happen? I'm pretty sure someone would have pressed the emergency button. Even when I offer my seat to old people on the bus/train, most refuse to take it. They wait for another seat to be free before sitting down.

I wonder if Toronto, New York or other rich "world class" cities are any better:

"Women in Toronto are a bit stuck up and bitchy, and it isn't the easiest place to approach them, but in my opinion are just begging to be picked up or even just chatted up by a confident man. I'm not talking about on the Internet or at bars but in regular, everyday situations. Sure you will get rejected more times than not, but I think you might find you'll be more successful than you might think. Men are such pussies these days, hiding in their basements and going on Tinder, I am convinced that if you have a bit of confidence, aren't an ogre and are somewhat interesting, you would clean up."

This incident happened quite some time ago and well before the rise of the internet.Yes the skytrain did have "panic buttons" back then and maybe somebody pushed one....but not a single person offered ANY type of direct aid or first aid....they just stepped over him to get on the train and left him to die.I read about it in the paper and I was disgusted by it as I am trained in CPR and I would have DONE something had I been there but ALL of those people could not be bothered after a day at work.

Vancouver is one place I would never live in again....not even if I won the lottery and wanted a "mild" winter climate. The people are indifferant and uncaring as well as unfriendly. The cost of real estate is vastly over priced and the average motorist is a retard when it comes to dealing with 2 centimetres of wet sloppy snow who also rubber-necks at accidents.Throw in the nutjob leftist people that are total hypocrites and you get a mix of people that I find detestable.I would much rather live in Seattle which is even milder than Vancouver but without the bad elements.

As for offering your seat to others whilst riding Vancouver's "germ tube" AKA the Skytrain...you sir are one of the few courteous people that use public transit....personally I dread using public transit and only do so when it is a last resort.I drive and I like my vehicle and the independance it gives me...not to mention I dont like freezing my ass off waiting for a bus in Winter.

Dont even get me started on that.I saw one youtube video that showed a gals car getting crushed. If some asshole had decided to do a tap dance and wreck my car he would have met the business end of a tire iron and gotten the most savage beating of his life.

As for the VPD they seriously shit the bed that night....lots of skulls needed thumping and lots of douchebags should have been arrested.
