Anybody watch the game tonite with the Giants against Everett.
Great old style hockey game, 3 seconds in a smoking donnybrook to
start the festivities and set the tone.

Great action throughout, lots of bone crushing hits and great plays.

Everett won again though in S/O :(
Close but no cigar.

Now hears something that makes me wonder if people really are getting
fed up with NHL. To expensive to waste good time and money on and
the Pacific Coliseum was packed to the rafter. 14,897 fans.

Incredible........ WHL is really taking off here and I welcome it over the
slow and useless NHL which costs to damn much for what you get in
return. I know where I'm spending my hocky dollar and have been
for sometime. Been going to see the CHilliwack bruins and the Giants.

Great action and an affordable price to boot !

Hey Quarter....I watched it. I've been following WHL for 2 years now.
It is way better. They are at the stage of being hungry that's why is awesome hockey. Money is not involved here. They're playing ot get to that level.

Anyway.....My money has been on Everett Since the start of the year to win it all. There's way too much talent on that team. Plus they have the Best goalie in the league IMO.

Cheers.

Have to say I haven't been to see a junior team since the <choke> 70's, in Trois Rivieres!

But this year I have tickets to the Memorial Cup. That should be a good one.

Great game. What did they have, around 14,000 in attendance? Impressive. I've always followed junior hockey, it's a way better game and I like to know the up and comers and track drafted players. You want a donnybrook, I remember going to the New West Bruins games at Queens Park. Punch McLean coaching, Smyl, Beck, Maxwell, Phillipoff, Schamehorn, Pachal, Fistric. Absolutely insane.

You got it Smother, these players are so hungry for the game its what
makes this style of hockey so entertaining.
Everett's only been in the league for 4 seasons now that's impressive
with there goaltending like you say I think they'll take the cup this year.
BUT !!, They have beaten the Giants 5 times now but by only one goal I think,
each time and this time in S/O so maybe the Giants will get to see them
in the playoffs  It will be something for sure. Can't wait for
that matchup.

Yup, 14,897 in attendance. Geeeez I remember when the nucks struggled
to get 10,000 at the Coliseum.

Crap you remember the NW Briuns too huh, I used to go to lots of there
games at Queens park.
Yah Smyl et al man that was some ruff hockey. Thought we had our own version of the bad bad Bruins of Boston at that time. :)

I had season tickets to the Brandon Wheat Kings and I remember them as the Estevan Bruins with coach Ernie "Punch" McLean and Ed Sidebottom (some names you just remember 4ever) and Greg Polis, etc.

With the draft age at 21 years at the time, a lot of junior hockey teams could have challenged some of today's NHL teams.

The most popular team by far was the Flin Flon Bombers with such players as goalie Ray Martiniuk, Bob Clarke, Reggie Leach and coach Patty Ginnel.

Those were the days my friend.....

You too can be a lucky bastard...........

No real shortage of tickets, fill the joint! To listen to you guys, we could get a PERBert's Section.

Ahh, Queen's Park Arena. Sometimes you just figured the joint would fall apart around you. I'm somewhat surprised that it still stands!

Anyhow, the Giants are excellent value for the ticket dollar.

As for the beer, a true hockey fan does not need beer to enjoy the game. Although I will admit that the two can be enjoyed at the same time.
