I am really sorry for all the messages I have not been able to return over the last week. I've been struggling if I should share my story. I was assaulted, and when I tried to get to a phone to get the police involved I was choked. I've been lying low letting the bruises heal, and the mind heal. It takes a real big man to knock around someone my size, and then to have the nerve to say don't cry foul when you asked for it. Funny how I don't remember asking for a nice swollen shiny black eye. I am dissappointed with the human race right now.

Once again I am sorry for unreturned messages, I will be returning them within acouple days.

If he argues it was rough, consensual sex that got out of hand even less would be done. I think you should absolutely start a file on him. It may deter him from hurting women again or result in a more severe sentence if he tries it again with another woman. Not to menion that the cops will take the next woman more seriously if there is already an assault charge filed against him. You never know, he may already have a file running and this could be the one that puts him away. NEVER let these guys think they can get away with it.

I know it will be difficult for you and you might be right that he only gets a slap on the wrist, but if nobody ever makes a complaint against this guy, who knows how many women he will assault without being punished? And if you can, initiate a police file. Even if the response is just a slap on the wrist, it means a criminal record, which at the very least usually means harsher treatment the next time around. In addition, if he has treated you this way, there is a good chance this isn't the first time for him and:
1) the police will be more likely to push harder on this; and
2) it is more likely that be sentenced harshly.
There is also the possibility that he is currently on parole, on bail, or on a suspended sentence, and a new assault complaint will cause that to be revoked.
