Unlocking a Rogers cell phone

I was wondering if anybody knew where I could have my Rogers phone unlocked to accomodate a Fido plan for a more reasonable price than they are wanting to do it for.

I am wanting to keep my old number as well - but would rather just flip SIM chips than have two phones and look like a drug dealer. Fido is offering a free phone, but as mentioned, I am not particularly fussed on having more than one phone on me at any time.

If it matters, it is a Motorolla V551

Go to the Richmond Night Market. They'll unlock any phone for a small fee. Failing that, many "small" Richmond cell phone dealers - who incidentally have booths at the Night Market - can also do the same.

Unfortunately you can't keep the same number. Certain numbers are assigned to each company telus, rogers, fido, and bell. If your number is rogers, there is no way to switch to fido and keep the number. Rogers owns the number

BTW, I have the same phone as you. But I look like a drug dealer and also have a Nokia.
