But I can not help myself…. I TOLD YOU SO

A number of times recently I have called Al “the sky is fall” Gore a hypocrite. He is preaching to me that if I do not stop driving my SUV the world will burn up or flood or some such disaster.

Turns out Chicken Little’s carbon foot print is sasquatch size.

The Gore mansion in Tennessee use 20 times the amount of energy as the average home in Tennessee.

Excuse me 20 times.

I am sure if they measured the other Hollywood loud mouths homes they would get similar results.

Al “Chicken Little” Gore just shut the fuck up. Come back when you get your energy utilization down to something even close to mine.

Gore has a large house, entertains a lot and works from home. He also has a staff. So that would drive up the consumption of power to a considerably higher level than an ordinary household.

I'm no fan of Gore, I still believe he is a bumbling idiot but you cant compare apples and oranges here.
I need my big gas burning truck as much as Gore needs his huge mansion.

But I am glad we agree on one point Gore is a bumbling idiot.

And what about the fact that despite his claims to have 'taken many steps to reduce his carbon footprint' his utility bills show that his carbon footprint actually went UP in 2006?

As far as the apples to oranges comparison, well, I entertain a lot and sometimes I work from home. I also have household staff. but I am NOT using 20 times the power that an average home in BC uses.

Maybe it's because his house and staff and power are being paid for with tax dollars?

NO! no, no, no!!!

He did'nt invent it... he created it!

His exact quote is:

"During my service in the United States Congress I took the initiative in creating the internet. I took the initiative in moving forward a whole range of initiatives that have proven to be important to our country's economic growth and environmental protection, improvements in our educational system"

That's like the difference between night & day!!

Gore participates in a utility program that sells blocks of "green power" for an extra $4 a month. Gore purchases 108 such blocks every month, covering 16,200 kilowatt-hours and helping subsidize renewable energy sources.

that so his yearly bill to use green power is $5814 of the total $16,308 annual bill meaning if he just didn't 'go green', he would have only paid $10,494 annually.

To be more accurate Future Canada:

"In total, Gore paid nearly $30,000 in combined electricity and natural gas bills for his Nashville estate in 2006".

That`s 20 times what the average person spends!

I would hardly call that going green.

First off, you mean The american tax payers paid and would have paid.

But what I REALLY want to know is, how on EARTH does the average household only pay $800 a year in electricity there???

Must be all the 'green power' we have up here in BC...

While you're at it - have a look at this....

http://www.snopes.com/quotes/internet.asp

....which reveals the "Gore claims to have invented the internet" thing to be utter, complete bullshit.

Yeah, whatever.....did you even read the link? The one that took the entire context of the interview in question into consideration, and not just little snippets like so many partisan-motivated, deliberately blind hacks did?

Yes I read the link, several times in fact. I might add I found it some time ago when I was checking out posters' previous comments on another thread here on perb.

The fact remains, he said:

"During my service in the United States Congress I took the initiative in creating the internet. I took the initiative in moving forward a whole range of initiatives that have proven to be important to our country's economic growth and environmental protection, improvements in our educational system"

Then again, you may have missed that part Bartdude.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, this guy is going for the Democrat's nomination for the presidency. The "movie" was part of his master plan. He will be announcing it soon.

Just Curious.

I'm just curious as to why an American like luckydog comes on a Western Canadian escort review board to rant about American politics. I'm not saying he shouldn't. Hell, anyone can come on here and rant about crotcheting for all I care, I'm just curious.

Excuse me while I go and read more about sex with hot chicks.

Let's attack them peoples for telling us there's a problem when we don't want to hear it, all together now!

If we shout loud enough, the facts won't get thru!

And for some more pearls of political wisdom:

I've said it before and I'll say it again, this guy is going for the Democrat's nomination for the presidency. The "movie" was part of his master plan. He will be announcing it soon.
However, on the slight chance that RH is wrong (again) on his political prognostication, I suggest you don't give up your C-SPAN if you really want to know whats what... & definitely don't give up the science channel...

So watch for Al Gore to run out of steam in a couple of years. Soon the Greens will be looking for another false alarm to scare the chickens with. What will it be? Asteroids crunching the earth? Aliens from outer space? That old stand-by, the international Jewish conspiracy? Regardless, you know who will be wearing the White Hats and the Black Hats. Because the story always stays the same. Only the details are changed.
