Saw it. It's a movie about robots who transform. Based on toy robots....who transform. You get what you pay for :) ...surprisingly endurable for being over two hours.

My son is at it now. Well, supposedly. He is 13, and they told him he couldn't get in. So he phoned me and told me, "I'll be home after the movie. I have to pay for another movie and sneak into Transformers." LOL

Its a great, fun movie. Dont go expecting some well crafted story, plot or dialogue up for Oscar considation-it gets you from A to B to C with some good laughs, and awesome action. It doesnt take itself to seriously, which is good, 'cause remember its a movie based on a toyline of giant transforming robots from the '80's! As said above it does get a little cheesy, which it should, as its that kind of movie. Just go if you want to be entertained for a few hours. Ive seen it twice and liked it better the second time, hell the crowd applauded and cheered the second time I saw it, and when some of my buddies went to see it, the crowds were cheering at their showings as well-all of which caught me by surprise.

It is just as cheesy as Independence Day. The robots were relatively realistic but the human actors were terrible. They included two token females and one token fat black dude. The human hero is a loser white boy from a middle class family.

The 11 – 16 yr old audience should be entertained by this.

I really enjoyed the movie. I thought it would be lame... you know... cuz I'm a girl and all... lol But luckily I have a son and he thought it was gonna be cool... So... Off I went to the theater with him... And I was pleasently suprised... But I too found the dialog a little cheesey at the end. I did enjoy the graphics though... To be honest... they really freaked me out at first! lol

I know, I'm a nerd! lol

Love, DD. xoxox

I refuse.

First off... my handle... Unicron was a Transformer. So yeah... I was very much into the old show. Still am.

When I heard they were making a new movie based on the 80s cartoons, I was excited as hell! Eventually online they ran about a 20 minute interview of the producers or directors or whoever they were. All sounded fine until they mentioned Bumblebee (originally an old aircooled Volkswagen Beetle) would be replaced by a (cringe) Camaro because it made the morphing animation process simpler.

Then later down the road I heard about GM's involvement in the project. Now Jazz (who in the 80s was a slopenose Porsche 911) would now be a (gag) Pontiac Solstice and one of the other vehicles now into a Hummer.

It gets worse! Later pictures shows the robots didn't look anything like what they're supposed to look like! Again... more reasons for animation. Give me a break.

GM's weenie attempt to sell more of the worlds worst engineered cars and computer artists who are allowed to get TOO creative have created an appalling representation of a great old cartoon.

Think I'll be PAYING to see it? Not likely.

I'm done ranting. :)

U guys pay couple hundred dollars to see a woman and ur guessing whether u should spend $11 on a movie?????????

hello?

i saw it it was dope. I watched the show when i was a kid and when i saw the first trailer i thought it was gonna be garbage, i was wrong....

Yes it did seem a bit like advertising for certain car manufacturers but other than that and that annoying kid (Sam Whitwicky) it was all good

I did go see it and overall I enjoyed the movie. I was dissapointed with the fact that none of the transformers were actually what they were in the old 80's toys/ cartoon/ comic book. They totally changed the storyline too. over all I was dissapointed that it had changed sooo much

First time poster here, and joining the Perb/Pooning community. It seems like a lively and friendly place.

I know this is somewhat of an old topic, but I just like to throw my 2 cents in there. I watched the movie on the first day, and even though I wasn't disappointed, I wasn't very happy with the movie.

First of all, the action was generally good, and the actors (Shia Labouef) did a good job, and Megan Fox, well, she was a fox. What I didn't like was Michael Bay. His direction of the movie made it rather shallow with no character development. I always thought he's overrated, and he's just one lucky guy to work in big budgets (Pearl Harbour, Armageddon), or direct a guaranteed success movie like the Transformers. Even though his old movies (The Rock and Bad Boys) were pretty decent, his movies are generic and shallow, they don't make you think, even though they do make money.

His movies seem to follow a set formula, and Transformers was no different. I think he has a checklist for all movies: Lots of explosion because of a big budget; loud talking and arguing; illogical action scenes that make for lots of explosions; Jerky and blurry shots; glorifying America; pop culture references; and somehow sneak in a cheesy love story even though it is not really needed. Once all those have been fulfilled, you got yourself a Michael Bay movie. (even though I do give him props for making the lead actresses look very good)

What really irked me about the Transformer movie is that there is not enough screen time and development for the transformers, the supposed stars of the show. We didn't really get to know all the transformers before they are gone (such as Starscream, Jazz, Bonecrusher, etc.). Also, there are quite a few plot holes and unnecessary characters. I think Bryan Singer would've done a much better job. In X-men 2, he juggled the characters well and managed to provide deep character developments. He would've probably know how to manage the Transformers screen time to make the movie better.

Sorry for the semi-rant as my first post. I just felt that these classic characters needed more involvement and better stories in their first big budget live action film. I know a lot of people like Michael Bay, and this is my opinion. Well, enough with the movie reviews, I should get back to the pooning reviews and maybe write a few as well.
