Reading news articles is a big thing for me. And time is important too. Therefore the title of the article should be about that subject.

Lately I am getting pissed off with alot of sites/articles that have a "title", but only talk about that subject for 30-40% of the time. The article is filled with other garbage from whatever a particular company is trying to promote.

The reality is that journalism is now the art of deception to enable the dissimulation of infomation unrelated to the "title". The article just wasted my time. The thing is I am interested in the title as the subject, but why do I have to read the rest of the BS.....

So I brand that author or site as an WOT. Obviously the writer/creater of these articles/videos have forgotten the KISS principle.

Is this what got you started? :D

I hear ya, man. Having worked in a radio news room myself, I completly get it. I'd love to return to that kind of work, but I'd probably be really rusty.

I'm old enough to remember (as you may be too) when a journalist was a journalist and believed in finding the truth, whatever that might be versus manipulating the facts, just giving their personal as truth or that being the loudest voice in the room makes them qualified to be a "journalist".

PS Why am I a little disturbed that in this relatively small active community here, 2 of us worked in the radio business? Lol

I came here because I misread the headline as “Titties”. What a let down.
Hate to accuse you guys of being near or far sited, but you need glasses.... But you are all probally aged out over 60 or so.... go get your eyes checked at your nearest SP place. Testing starts at arms length and you have to "tune in Tokyo" for the correct prescription.... For you old guys you will need larger nipples.....as you have probally lost sensitivity in your hands....

No I actually like that song. It wasn't an Perb article or Rant, It was more a news article from one of the big news stations in Canada....
My hunch is you missed the joke (the fact that the title of the post had nothing to do with its contents), but... :D

The answear again is No. I understand the other thread being misleading. And some term it as a prank.

To be serious, too many videos and blogs have titles that are misleading, just to get the attention, the ability for you to click on it and enter their domain. Imagine if the government tomorrow decided to take all the stop lights and stop signs away. Imagine the conjestion.

Well the same thing happens with the english language. Titles and Headings help you search/find the info you are looking for.

By the way I really love big titties.... with long nipples.... so.......👅

So beside the fact there are no titties here, I think misleading titles or other clickbait whether in print or internet is part of what media now is. Whereas in the past you were served an ad or other 'marketing' material such that you could view it or respond as you see fit, the whole game has become way more aggressive. I still have a newspaper subscription and there are a lot of misleading titles that could draw me in, but not that I have become numb to the whole phenomena, after the first few lines where it's not what I expected, I move on.
