Tips When Calling

This occurred to me yesterday, but it is (most likely) for the lurkers rather than board members. When you call an escort, companion, or courtesan from her ad and want to discuss rates, saying "Hi, ...uh, how much is it?" simply isn`t as effective as "Hi, I saw your ad and I was curious about your rates."

"How much is it?" is also old-school, quasi-street lingo which is borderline offensive and breathes life to old stereotypes.

"Hi, I saw your ad and..." comes across more gentlemanly and you are respecting the situation.

Also, if you people are around you, talking in the background, it isn`t a private conversation. Be mindful of your surroundings, when calling for info or rates.

This thread had a few tips too:

I usually just say I saw their ad and I'm looking for more information. They nearly always state their rates without my asking specifically. If they don't, I simply ask, "What are your rates"?"

How about this little gem:

Me: Hello?
Guy: Is this (name of another escort)?
Me: Um, no, this is Emmanuelle.
Guy: Oh, sorry, I wrote down the wrong number. Do you have (other escort)'s phone number?

:p

So What Number Do You Give Them

Emmanuelle, I hope you keep the number of the Salvation Army handy. That should make their next call interesting.

I usually call up and yell:

"I JUST SAW THIS BUMPER STICKER THAT SAID 'HONK IF YOU'RE HORNY!' WELL, HONK HONK BABY!!!"

I get more hang-ups than you'd expect.

I think it's good if you get people with bad phone manners because you know immediately NOT to let them into your home (or visit them in theirs). If there phone manners are bad, more often than not, their in person manners are not an improvement. Think of it as a screening device.

It seems respect for the customer is also "Old School". I am constantly amazed at SP's who think that complaining about their customers on a public internet board can in anyway enhance their business.:(

Why does everything we do have to be seen as negative.

They are not complaining about actual customers. They are making fun of some people that don't usually make it past the phone call. :)

There is also some really good advice here for first timers.

I actually found this thread intertaining, and funny.

The reason I created this thread, was out of a sincere attitude to help others become a "customer." That's why I simply titled it "Tips When Calling" and included a link with more info.

Respect from me, for the ladies and gentlemen I visit with ("customer" is not my term of choice), always has been and will continue to be a given.

I hope the SP's tend to cut some slack for the pooners who get nervous on the initial phone call. I'm usually a pretty cool customer, but I'm sure I'll be nervous as hell the first time I call an SP for an appointment. Please don't judge us on that merit alone!

I completely understand phone nerves. I get them my self. :)

I just don't understand the people who masturbate while talking to you (never have any intention of showing up), or the address collectors (never have any intention of showing up), or the people who are so rude, that you're like wow, does anyone let you in to their place?

After working for a while you start to think everyone that wants to talk longer than 3 minutes, is a practical joker/time waster/no show-er, kind of guy, lol No offense intended at all to the beautiful men that need a minute or two longer, to feel comfy. :p :D

That's totally understandable that you feel that way. Time is money. I don't think I'll be wasting the SP's time with too much small talk on the phone. I'll save that part for the date.:p

I believe that a good SP recognizes when a gentlemen is nervous, somethimes you guys are nice enough to let us know about it.
The good SP doesn't judge. :p
As long as you are polite and intelligent on the phone it doesn't matter how nervous you are.

Thanks :)

I have a website now, so my phone, actually doesn't ring that often. When it does, it is usually someone that wants to know if I am available immediately, and already knows what he needs to know, or someone confirming their appointment. I am totally open to someone wanting to chit chat for a few minutes. :) I still get the odd no show, and phone time waster, but not nearly as bad as before, lol

When I had an ad in the paper (West Ender and Georgia straight) and craigslist, my phone rang 50+ times a day, some were masturbaters (you can tell by the breathing, lol), address collectors (make appointment-don't show up), rude people (how much to suck my cock?), bargain hunters (how about if I pay you this instead), people who don't want to pay for a session, but want to talk (they don't tell you they just want to talk, but after 10 minutes of you trying to steer the conversation to making an appointment, you know, lol). After this, you get very tired of the phone. My friends would be like how come you never phone me? I'd tell them, sorry, I have developed a phone allergy, lol :)

Just curuios what percent of appointment requests do you ladies actually turn down? Obviously there are time/date issues which make it that you have to turn down other requests, but I am talking got a bad vibe requests, and you would not see that person today , tomorrow or next year...?
