How many of you pooners give tips to SP's? Say they charge $220-$250/HR IF you tip how much should you give?

I've probably tipped one out of 20 sessions for service that was above and beyond.
The girls make enough as it is - tax free.

your GF's panties
How many of you pooners give tips to SP's?
I often do, though donations i give are usually only from $15-60/hr, but it is totally up to you.
The reason i tip generously is to keep them seeing me or coming back, if they are good.
And hopefully that will inspire them to maintain their performance or even improve upon it.

tipping a sp is based on the same concept as tipping in a busy bar or restaurant, if you want good service try being generous with tips

if you want continued good service, again tip

it normally gets someone's attention, makes them feel good beyond the compensation (self esteem)

on the other hand, tipping when they ask for it for so so service is a waste (in my limited opinion), just encouraging more bad service and attitude

sometimes the form of the tip could be a gift (which I prefer)

just a form of thoughtfulness

Let me redirect the thread slightly. If a client does tip, do you prefer cash or some kind of gift?

As the lepper said to the SP... "Keep the tip..."

or the other classic, on the jar beside the coat check girl - "Tipping is *not* just a city in China..."

If you feel you got better than you paid for, no reason you can't tip. But if you got what you paid for, or less, there's no reason to tip. Just like if the owner of a restaurant is serving you, not really a tipping situation.

A tip is a reward to someone who doesn't make a lot of money, and relies on tips to enhance thier income, and the base pay usually is based on the potential extra income. Waiters, poker dealers, pizza drivers... none of them get $200/hr, so yeah, toss them 10%...

If an SP truly rocks your world, and you think she's charging too little for her services, suggest she raise her price, and give her the fee you suggest. Not a tip, but a fair payment for services rendered.

Rubin
(I thought this was going to be about SP's sleeping standing up or something... and how you can sneak up on them a "tip" them over...)

Tipping should be expected in a micro, amp, mp, agency then. whatever is paid in total, only a fraction goes to the sp, so tipping will be of benefit to her (might increase her take by 25% in a micro, plus those are so cheap already you know you are getting a terrific deal, why not bump it up by 20, its still well below average prices)

tipping a sp is based on the same concept as tipping in a busy bar or restaurant

Um, noooooooooooooooooooo, it isn't:

A "busy bar or restaurant" is almost always owned by someone else, who is getting the largest payoff resulting from your labor. An independent SP is a sole proprietor, and is free to set her own prices and is responsible for setting prices at a point that will cover overhead costs and keep herself rolling in the clover. If she finds she isn't making sufficient income, she need only raise prices or lower them and work more often.

Tipping is great at a massage parlour or other such place wherein somebody higher up is taking a large chunk of the gross revenue.

Tipping an independent SP is based, more accurately, on the same "concept" that has men who are attracted to women in mainstream society just giving them unsolicited gifts and money commensurate with their relative fuckability, regardless of whether said men will ever get the hoped-for sexual liason.

100% agreement with the first part of rubin's post - but DO NOT, under any circumstances be shooting your mouth off about sp's raising their prices! geez guy

Personally I don't really believe in tipping SP's. I think a lot of guys tip because they think it will increase there mileage and it may pressure the SP to do things they may not normally do, which is not really fair and can lead to disappointment if the tip does not equate to what the pooner was hoping for.

However, though I do not tip, If I do enjoy the service I do almost always repeat

My hair dresser just build a brand new house, takes extravagant vacations yearly and drives a brand new vehicle does this mean I shouldn’t tip her?

I never tip. I don't negotiate or discuss rates and I don't tip.
Charge what you want but expect to only get paid what you charge.

With independents it is much less common, and much less expected as well.
I agree. A tip is totally not needed or expected for an indy. However, on the occasion when one is given (for a reason, such as, exceptional service or with some clients you develop a special bond) it is greatly appreciated! :)

One Gent has been consistently tipping me $20, I believe he does this as a way to show that he thinks I am special ♥
