This is why cheating and the sex trade will never die

This touched a real nerve in me. Exactly.

And then there was the story in the sidebar that I could also very much relate to:
http://www.salon.com/2015/05/02/they_turned_college_into_mcdonalds_adjunct_professors_fast_food_wages_and_how_colleges_screw_more_than_just_students/
Some 50% or more of the teaching in local universities is done by TAs and sessionals who for the most part are living something around the poverty line.
So much for getting a good education and then you'll be able to get a good job.

Divorce stats keep rising and yet men and woman still, and forever bond in marriage. In today's world marriage is equivalent to Russian roulette, and I believe it's getting much worse as social media expands. It's an ever changing world we live in and changing faster than many of us think.

Men and woman both in the work force make it much more difficult to focus the simpler things in life. Take Vancouver for instance, cost of living here is beyond control and is taking a financial burden on couples lifestyles. Credit card debt is out of control and with online shopping escalating in popularity, its another nail in the coffin towards uncontrollable debt. Put's crazy stress on marriages which cause fatigue, eventually leading to a sexless and frustrating marriage. This is reality and people are people.

But, again, men and woman will always marry each other. It's a guarantee in life.

Interesting. I thought divorce rates are down since couples need each other's paychecks to cover the house or apt payment. Read somewhere that when money and economy is tough divorce is lower. Its just amazes me that young people divorce since when you are young you are much more inclined to marry since its the perfect match instead of being older and just wanting to find someone so you don't grow old alone.

This graph does show a growing rate vs marriage. However, also keep in mind many couples today only live together without marrying and there's enormous amount of single men and woman available as well.

Another thing to keep in mind. Divorce, being extremely expensive and emotionally disastrous can ruin a guy for life depending the circumstances. Just how many miserable marriages exist that are still together but will not separate based on religious reasons, kids and monetary issues??

I was told of a guy who makes less money than his ex-wife but has to pay her alimony (!).

When they first started out, he was making 2x more money than her but 4 years into the marriage she joined a hedge fund. Un-fucking-believable.

Initially I thought it was bullshit but then a divorce lawyer confirmed that it IS possible.

It's not about love, commitment, neglect, or infidelity......Divorce is about who has the better lawyer

Yeah a buddy of mine is a tradesman and his ex is a nurse. He caught her cheating on him with one of the doctors that she worked with. They'd been together for 25 years. Once they devided up all the assets, my buddy was way ahead of the game. Works both ways if you have a wife with a good career and an awesome pension.

This is why the W4M personal ads have a lot of "Looking fora professional man" in 'em. Us trades guys aren't divorce-worthy LOL

Re Horn's comment about professors, the cost of a college education has gone up huge in the US< and prof salaries haven't moved, or gone down. Where is all the added cost coming from? Administration has tripled. This is the US situation, probably no different here.
