I have had nothing but positive results from CL.
As CLM found one of her best clients, I found my ATF. She is a part timer, and just does not advertise anywhere else. She can have an ad up within minutes, and be putting $$$ in her pocket within a few hours. Do that with a website.
I have also had great success trying some of the unknowns and unreviewed ladies from CL. There is only one who I would make no effort to contact again. But, then I haven't seen her ad since I saw her. Hmmm! Is there a connection here?
If you get enough business from free advertising, why would you go to the effort of preparing an advertising program, ie website? That is money that goes directly into your pocket.

I don't think anyone meant to "knock you down", they are just surprised that you advertise on a free site.

I have used CL exclusively in the past. I work only once in a while, and don't want to invest in a website or other advertising. I only do outcalls to hotels so that makes it pretty simple.
I've met my share of wonderful clients off of CL as well as those thinking that they can pull one over on me, or just want to waste my time.
I also do NOT post my phone number in the ad, as I don't want it out there like that. I prefer to give it to my client after the decision has been made to make an appointment. Most clients have been happy with the way I do things, and those that weren't, I didn't see.

No, it would be a mistake to only post an email address or to have people use the anonymous email provided with your ad. There is far too much flag/deleting going on CL and your info will be lost. Most clients are not going to sit at a computer or type back and forth to contact you. Also, most aren't at their computer, read the ad then call you up while reading it. They usually wait until an appropriate (for them) time to call, which usually means when they are away from home/work, driving in their car, at lunch, on their way home, etc.

I don't. I never have. I never will. It's part of my screening process. It's pretty easy for someone to send a quick e-mail when they are sitting at their computer browsing ads. One can learn a lot from an initial e-mail. (Grammar, spelling and writing a complete sentence tell me a lot!) As a part-time SP, I also don't want my phone ringing all day and night.

As far as the CL topic goes, I have to say that my opinion has considerably changed in the past week or so.. Having never regularly advertised on CL before and only experimented the occasional time with rather mediocre results (lots of time wasters asking for more photos, asking questions about rates when rates are clearly included in the post, going back and forth and still getting nowhere or any closer to booking, no shows) which left me feeling like overall, it was way more times consuming for results that didn't make it seem worth it. I could not understand why girls kept advertising there and nowhere else.. But then, over the holidays I decided to give it a try again and was a little surprised when I got better results than in the past. But then I had some issues with my posts not showing up (ever) with the others eventhough everything else was showing me it should be fine. So I just dropped it (CL support doesn't reply to emails BTW. Sent 2 and have yet to hear from them months later.. That's the downfall of a free site.... although doesn't mean it's any better when you do pay......*AHEM*..... oh nevermind. lol)
Until a little over a week ago when I found myself still in Vancouver, my departure having been delayed for a few reasons, and horny as hell because I hadn't been able to work much at all for the last month and half because of my move and some beast of a dog someone abandoned with me, that refused to be left in a different room which made it impossible for me to entertain. So I got this weird posting issue resolved (on my own. Thanks CL.) and I have to say that my opinion on the subject has made a full 180. While I do agree that there are more time wasters or cheap mofos than I would hear from via other advertising sites (excluding Perb) but I've also met great, quality and wonderful gentlemen as well. I've come to the conclusion that you can pretty much tell right away if someone is just going to waste your time. The ones who book, just...... book. They don't need more photos, a thousand details or all that stuff. They just contact you and book. So after a few non-sense time wasters, I know when to stop wasting time with someone after a few msgs without feeling like it's getting anywhere. I think the main thing about CL is how accessible it is, the amount of traffic to the website because it isn't strictly escort related, or only active in one or two cities.. it's all over and people know about it and visit for other purposes. Yes, perb is great in the sense that it caters to this specifically, but there are a lot of people out there who don't bother going through the trouble of researching what sites are out there, it's all right there for them on CL already.. and unless someone really wants to spend time (or views it as a 'hobby'), they don't need to go look anywhere else and find it all on CL. I mean, let's face it. There are a lot more options on CL than on any other paid site. And this from both sides, providers and clients. Even when traveling to a different city, all anyone has to do is display results for a different city.
I will be very honest here, but Perb -for Vancouver- has never done anything for me. I can honestly count on 2 hands the clients I have met as a direct result of posting in the Vancouver advertising section. I have met gentlemen as result of positive reviews or as a result of my posts (non advert) but that is accessible to any other non paying sp on this site. I know some other girls seem to get business but it has never been the case for me. The majority of new clients I've met in Vancouver have been from advertising on other sites. Yet I've always had great results from advertising in the Calgary and Edmonton sections. I have no idea why... But for me it's always been this way. And that's why I think this whole CL thing for me has turned out to be great though I have no idea why in the past, the results were mostly mediocre. From other paid advertising sites, I've met less gentlemen if I compare to CL volume, but rarely dealt with time wasters, no shows.. In almost all cases, when someone contacted me, it was to book and they'd already made up their mind.
So do I think CL attracts lesser quality clientele or providers?
I think that naturally you will find more just because the sheer volume of people posting/reading is that much higher than on any other site, you'll find a larger amount of less desirable people, but if you write your ad right and learn to spot the time wasters quickly and avoid them altogether, CL provides a lot more exposure to a much wider range of gentlemen. IMHO.
