We open a bottle of champagne and pour ourselves a mimosa a sweet guilty pleasure to start the day.

It's early in the morning, you have to run off to work soon but as the rest of the world wakes, readies themselves for the workday, runs for the Go, the subway, you lie next to me.

The music plays, the sun streams in through the windows.

I spent my entire day yesterday preparing for you, my nails freshly polished, my toes a bold red, my skin is soft to the touch and your fingertips glide across every curve.

The sun is rising but for now the morning still belongs to us.
