I have an S3 and yes the battery sucks...but I get another battery for $38. Malware? lots of free apps to help you in that department as well as power management. Way more than Apple and stupid iTunes. All of my friends who like iphone like the camera and they're constantly snapping instagram pics instead of using the phone as communication device. If that's how you'll be spending your time, then go for the iPhone.
Ditto on the itunes!! I find apple too proprietary and that just pisses me off. A friend has an Ipod and I found that you can transfer music from a computer (thru itunes), but not back again.. Another friend purchased a ipad and I played with it a bit..and it was frustrating. But if you are part of the apple family then the handshaking goes well.
I like my Galaxy s2X...it does what I want/need to do. The only issue I had was when I upgraded the OS. I'd never do that again. But in general it's been a good phone..tough too.
I am on Telus, and can say that in the last few years Telus has improved significantly. (I used to use the telus stick on my lap top..and the issues and customer service sucked)...Today I would NOT hesitate to stay with telus when my plan expires...they have been very good to me, and have even reversed charges even when it was by my admitted mistake....
I never get the newest latest phone. If you wait a 'generation'..or just before the release of the next one, you can get some great deals as companies try to clear out the older models.
Lastly, always try and get an unlocked phone, or ask the provider to unlock the phone you get (u may need to wait 3 months).....with the unlocked phone, you can travel out of country and buy a local sim card and use your phone as a local phone in that country.
Honestly, I love the new technology and what it does for me....
