There are so many great restaurants in Vancouver, but which one is the best?![]()
Best Italian resto in the city for me. :thumb:Ciopinos in my opinion in yaletown.
Why would you ever pay that much for a meal?Il Giardino Italian restaurant.
Went there for an "authentic" Italian lunch the other day. If that was a typical Italian meal I feel sorry for the Italians. Seriously.
Overpriced BAD food!
I wouldn't return if it was free!
And it wasn't ... $150 lunch for 2. Unreal.
The best part was the mozza on the appetizer plate. The rest sucked!
Might have been a one off mistake and I usually give second chances but I think it is cruising on the past. And still charging like it is special.
It isn't.
Pissed me off to the point that Italian is off my "to do" list!
thanks for the tip, decided to take a date to Hawksworth. Had their sampling menu and it was good. pricey. but, enjoyable night at the restaurant. The new Hawksworth Restaurant at the Rosewood Hotel Georgia is a welcome addition to the city's vibrant restaurant scene. David Hawksworth, formerly of WEST fame, has brought an all-star cast to his new resto from the Wine Director to his Pastry Chef. :thumb:

Rather hear about places like this than the "fancy places". No surprise that people think Gotham and Il Giardino are good.I dont know about "fancy places" that charge you an arm and a leg but I do know what I like from when I lived in Vancouver many years back....my fave place was Brothers in Gastown.....good food great service as well as really wicked chairs/tables....gotta love a throne for a chair.....as for fancy gourmet food I can outcook a lot of high-end establishments in my meagre kitchen.....for me I like Brothers....good place...not fancy or high brow....just a good place to enjoy a decent meal.....though knowing my luck the place is no longer in business.

Sorry to hear of your bad dining experience and thanks for the heads up. You should send a letter of concern and be sure to include all the details from your restaurant receipt or simply scan it and attach it to your email. Unfortunately, many of these 'cookie cutter' chains have many inexperienced cooks helping out with the summer overload.i had the worst food i ever paid for the other night... nobody at the table was impressed. did the chef call in sick and the hostess was cooking? it was the milestones at 1210 denman. i want to write them and complain. it had no flavor at all and my plate was a 'staff and customer favorite' according to the menu. my table even felt sick the next day
just wanted to warn you all.
she's still open, good for drinks great servers every time I've beenIt was closed, then re-opened at another location. Unless that one is closed too, lol.
Amazing food!Oru @ the Fairmont is very good.
Oooh yes, I forgot about that one. Good Mojitos and their Lounge serves the best yam fries in the city.Oru @ the Fairmont is very good.
I'm seeking a restaurant with excellent seafood and a stellar view for someone near and dear's birthday dinner.
Any recommendations?
If all else fails, I'm reserving at Coast.
