The name was actually, "Three Niggers and a Chink" and they were the house band at Papa Chong's. Papa's was an after hours club on Davie Street, below what was at the time "The Retinal Circus." Interestingly enough, it was the white folks that objected to the name, not the black crowd that were the majority of the customers that frequented the place.
