Thought I would share this Canadian "Canthem" Video just for fun

Re: Poutine: It is starting to catch on south of the border, first in border communities and US Canuckophiles (yes, they exist), but now even trendy NYC cafes are serving it.

My friends and I are currently on a mission to find the best poutine in town!!

Have a good long weekend, everyone!!!! :canada:

Here are the winners!!

As Canadian as...?

CBC readers fill in the blank. Updating Peter Gzowski's quest for a national simile.

In 1972, Peter Gzowski decided that Canada needed a national simile, an answer to "As American as apple pie." So, he ran a contest on the radio: Complete the phrase "As Canadian as..."

Some 40 years later, CBC News asked readers to complete the sentence again.

The interactive below features answers gathered from CBCNews.ca blog comments and on Twitter.

The hundreds of responses fell into eight categories: general Canadiana, sports, food, people, language, media, nature and politics. Click the buttons to see answers from that category.

Use the "share this answer" button under each submission to tweet it.

The photo column on the right features Instagram photos submitted by CBC News readers. Links will open in a new window.
THERE ARE LOTS OF WINNERS IN SEVERAL CATEGORIES, TO SEE THEM ALL VISIT THE CBC WEBSITE: http://www.cbc.ca/news/interactives/as-canadian-as/

As a Canadian .. world champion squirter over here!

hockey, Trailer park boys (come on now), hockey, best beer (even though I don't drink it, American beer tastes like piss - not that I ever drank piss), we've cranked out more formidable comedians and hockey players than most other countries.

Nickleback does not count as music .. sorry! And Chad's head is way too big for his body. Rush is the bomb - that's real music and we have toques and say crick and not creek, wtf is a creek any way?

Do I win???

PS I forgot Poutine .. yeah I know it's a quebec thing, but poutine is the bomb!

I agree! Dickleback doesn't count where music is mentioned. Rush certainly fits the criteria, accompanied by:
Neil Young, Gordon Lightfoot, Daniel Lanois, Oscar Peterson, Joanie Mitchell, Leonard Cohen, Shania Twain, Anne Murray,
BTO, Robbie Robertson and Bryan Adams.
heck, even Celine Dion is a better answer than Dickleback!

not related to music but forgot to mention
As Canadian as Terry Fox. RIP.
