Any insight on events or festivals in Calgary during the summer?? I am planning another visit & would like a little action on the side Concerts? Food ?

We have a small event called the Calgary Stampede that has been going on for a few years. Lots of people seem to enjoy it.

You might want to book a trip for that time.....

just a few bulls & cowboys entertaining the tourists -

must be more going on there ....... I saw Tom Cochrane during the stampede a few moons ago.....my first trip to Calgary Stampede, I get off the plane in my moccasins & flowing flower pants. First stop was to buy a pair of jeans, did I ever feel out of place, this was no island festival!!! LOL

There is a BBQ competition - "BBQ on the Bow" which runs the second to last weekend in August. It is a BBQ Saturday with judging Sunday type thing.

I have been keen to go for a couple of years but have always missed it.

thanks again.....I'll pick a date soon for July or August(not during stampede,I am not into crowds), the African Festival is interesting, would love to hear the gospel music on Sunday. As for the BBQ, I'm vegetarian with the exception of seafood & butter chicken!!! I'll be camping Labour Day weekend
